Our room was lovely and well presented, equipped with a mini fridge, iron, kettle. It was good for value. The parking was limited due to the event we were attending booking out the hotel so little to no parking spaces available. Did find some areas that haven't been cleaned in a while in the bathroom-vent was caked in dust, and gunk in the shower seams but other than those 2 things the room was clean. The staff were very lovely and accommodating with us bringing dogs in. Food selection was varied and what we got was nice. Our room was quiet and secluded
I was given a room which had bed bugs. After being promptly moved, my new room hadn't been cleaned. There was clumps of hair on the carpet and the bathroom was filthy. There was also coffee stains all over the surfaces. After brining this up to the hotel staff 3 times and being repeatedly told each time that my room would be cleaned it wasn't. This isn't good enough and I'd advise people do not stay here.
Great location. Room was small but clean, with all the usual facilities. Very good breakfast, and the bar was excellent. Much better than I expected, tbh.Rooms: 4/5
Popped in to the cafe for a coffee and snack. First time visiting. Staff were very nice. Sat in the 'conservatory' area looking out over the clock tower. Food and drink fine. But the area was really grubby and all the glass of which there's loads dirty with handprints. The sofa in the area above us had had a hot drink spilled down the back at some point and not cleaned up, so had a lovely view of that through the dirty glass.
One of the worst hotels we’ve stayed in! Car park was completely chaotic with nowhere to park. The room was around 15 degrees and the heating didn’t work. Eventually we got an extra heater which helped but it was far from ideal. The radiator in the bathroom didn’t work either. For £60 a night this would be poor, but at £140 a night this is ridiculous!!! Avoid and go somewhere else if I were you! To top it off we had a fire alarm at 2am which they couldn’t turn off! Absolutely shocking!
Only went in for a chocolate and chat. Not overly impressed with staff. Doesn't accept cash, ridiculous. Not everyone has credit/debit cards. I do have cards but I choose to keep some privicy from information you collect. Hence the comment I'm making. And I hear you....I know I'm part of the minority but you should hear my voice, this is discrimination. How dare you manipulate peoples choices.
Really enjoyed spending 3 nights at this hotel. The bed was surprisingly comfy and the restaurant had some very nice food options - their pizza was amazing. The water pressure in the shower wasn't great but it wasn't a major issue.
The hotel feels a little dated and has a strange layout. My room was on the 2nd floor but to get to it from the lift I had to navigate a maze of corridors and go down a flight of stairs. This was not a problem for me, but if you have restricted mobility then you may want to request a room on the same floor as the lift. The room was clean but a little tired in places. The bed was comfy and I had a good night's sleep. The evening meal that I had in the restaurant wasn't great. There wasn't ordering at the table, instead I had to order from the bar and give my table number. When the meal came, it looked and tasted like a ready meal that had been heated in a microwave. The breakfast, however, was great. It was a 'serve yourself' buffet style breakfast, but there was a good choice and everything was cooked great and very tasty. The staff were also great and a credit to Holiday Inn. I had a 2nd stay here. This time the room felt more modern, possibly remodelled recently. However, the room Aircon was not working and I had to rely on a small electric radiator for heat. Not ideal, but not too much of an issue either.
Great value dog friendly hotel ideal for crufts!!! About 20 to 30 minutes from the NEC. Bar and breakfast. Make sure to register your car as it's a camera car park!Rooms: 5/5
Excellent friendly staff throughout. Rooms are ok depending on what you pay for . Definitely needs to be updated . Beds are very comfortable. Air con is excellentRooms: 3/5
