Due to a show that was on at yhe King Power stadium, we were messed about for about an hour and had to go driving around 3 time till we were allowed to park, though this was not down to the hotel staff. The staff here are good and helpful, which was the best thing here. The building had no working air con, so there was a fan and electric heater in the room. In booking I asked for a quiet room, but room was on the side of the KING POWER Staideum, where a show was happening and was very loud 8:05AM approx there was banging sounds in the hotel maybe cleaners?. The room itself was good with no problems other than the air con not working. I won't be back here again, which is ashame because the staff were good.
For optimal navigation, please use the Waze app. Its suggested route, proceeding past King Power Stadium and turning at the traffic lights, will ensure a smooth arrival at the hotel.nnGoogle Maps directions, which involve navigating around the stadium and exiting at the roundabout, are currently impractical due to road closures.nnParking is complimentary, requiring validation via digital entry of your license plate number and completion of the necessary paperwork.nnStaff is friendly and helpful.nnGuest rooms are comfortable and quiet, and include coffee-making facilities, a television, and complimentary Wi-Fi.nnA complimentary breakfast is included with the room reservation.
I booked a twin and we got a double, and when asked about it was told there was nothing else available, due to this had a terrible night, had to resort to sleeping on the floor. In the morning was told we could have got a roll out bed, Customer care lacking, don't think I will book Holiday Inn again.
This hotel is in a great location and not too far from the town centre. I stay here 2/3 times a year and generally good, but the air con has been out of action for at least a year, probably longer which I think is poor for IHG.
Unfortunately we arrived at the end of a football match for Leicester City and the roads around the stadium and hotel were all closed and we were unable to get to the hotel until the roads reopened around 18:00. Not ideal and we had not seen any warning of this.nThe reception was generally clean and the staff were friendly on check in.nThe room itself, although clean was in desperate need of refurbishment with marks on the carpet, adhesive tape on the headboard and not all of the sockets in the room worked.nBreakfast was the usual Holiday Inn Express offering and was freshly cooked. However there were very few croissants on offer despite the hotel appearing to be quite full.
