Night shift staff was good, but need more training for listening to costumes rather than always disturb. Room is fine, some of hair from staff or last customers was on the surface of bed and pillow cover is 100% clean. Coz I arrived after 12am, so that I don’t ask for changing room. On the second I asked to change all bed cover, but staff only change towels. Breakfast is fine, daytime staff is super nice and polite. Location is good, but takes around 10mins by walking from new street station. There is no open window in the room and the entrance is unobtrusive.
Fantastic, could not fault our stay, the staff were friendly and professional, the rooms were very clean and considering the hotel capacity felt spacious.nAlthough we were in the heart of Birmingham it was a very peaceful night sleep after an amazing shower!nThe self serve breakfast was of a very high standard with much more choice than I was expecting with continental, cooked, fresh fruit, juices and filter coffee.
The dreadful tired roomnhad an overwhelming smell of smoke.nnAsked reception to change room but they declined on the basis hotel full. However vacancies showed on IHG, booking.com and Trivago. The reply was the hotel deliberately overbook. I asked so there is a risk I arrive and no room despite booking. The reply was I don’t make the rules.nnThis is a hotel clearly used by authorities to house families on a b&b basis. If you want children running up and down corridors and families conversing on their doorsteps on a Sunday morning then fine.nnOne of my worse hotel experiences ever!
Nice rooms, friendly staff, good free breakfast. Only actual issue is the lifts, they take so long and there's only 3 of them on my second day one was broken too. Can't even use the stairs to go up to check-in without checking in first since the stairs are card entry only.
We stayed for one night while in town for a gig at Utilita Arena. The hotel is well located and our twin room although compact was modern, bright, well designed and spotlessly clean although the hot water pipes did wake us up very early in the morning. The bathroom was super modern too and the shower was powerful. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful and all the staff members we met were super lovely. A special shout out though to Sean who checked us in for his patience and wonderful sense of humour. All in all - good value and would definitely stay again next time I'm in town.
