Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful. Went to this shop with less than 6 months left to my wedding in a crisis as a dress I had ordered from abroad on my own turned out to be horrid. I was in heaves of tears and so upset. With so little time left I started contacting dress shops, most of whom gave me very snooty replies especially when they heard my budget was between 700-800£. However, Carole got back to me immediately and made me an asap appointment promising every step of the way that she would get me my dream dress and boy did she ever! The first dress I saw on the mannequin was my wedding dress though at first I ignored it due to a fear of the price which was far less than I ever imagined and just within my budget! Carole was on the phone to the distributor while I was still in the dress once I was positive it was my dream dress, had it ordered and on its way immediately. It came within a month! No extra charges for a rush or anything which was fantastic. I initially expected to have to buy a sample dress but it was so easy to get the dress I wanted ordered in. She also sorted out a tiara and veil for me quickly and easily over the phone when I couldn't make it back to the shop due to work. She is such a busy lady, I don't know how she manages to do so much so quickly for so many brides/grooms, etc. To those who were not happy with wearing gloves - I'm surprised, because most shops do require this due to the wear caused by acid which is also found on your fingershence the need for acid free paper when you store your wedding dress later. If they are to be tried on by many and taken care of the expensive dresses they are of course they will need this measure. Many of these dresses go on to be sold in sample sales in perfect condition to ladies looking for a lower price. Definitely a busy shop but for a very good reason! Fantastic experience!
After finding my beautiful wedding dress with Hinxworth Bridal and paying my deposit on 27th January 2018. I have since found out that as of w/c 9th April 2018, Hinxworth Bridal went in to receivership and closed down that week. No information has been updated regarding the closure other then on their Facebook page.
I highly recommend Expressions Bridal. The customer service I received was excellent and I couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. There is a wide range of dresses to suit all tastes and they are both beautifully made and very reasonably priced. As the dresses are made to order, it means you can request some alterations, for example, I am having sleeves added to a sleeveless design. I found all the staff there to be warm and friendly and I felt immediately at ease and able to discuss requirements. I hadn't made an appointment and turned up on a busy Saturday but I was still able to try on several dresses and nothing was too much trouble. A lovely experience that I will always remember.
I was recommended Expressions Bridalwear by my cousin law who had a brilliant experience with them when she was married in May 2013. From the first email that I recieved from Carole I was thrilled with their friendliness and helpful attitude. As soon as my Mum and I arrived we were offered tea as it was chilly day and then the dresses were explained to us and how we could look through and choose which ones I would like to try. I was not given a limit and when I ran out of marker tokens I was just handed some more as I loved lots of the dresses and was eager to try them on. The lady who helped me try on the dresses was lovely and we chatted away and had a giggle, which made a special experience even more lovely. I felt thoroughly relaxed and looked after and was not rushed in any way. All the dresses in the shop are gorgeous and there are a wide range of styles so I would imagine everyone could find something they love. Even if not, there is an option to add bits to dresses or take bits away to fit the vision of your dream dress. I found my perfect dress after trying all the ones I had picked out and am thrilled with it. At this point my Mum and I were offered a glass of pink bubbly which just made it all feel so special, really memorable, especially as it was Valentines. The lady explained all the timescales and when my dress would arrive and when I should have a fitting etc. The most amazing thing about Expressions Bridalwear is that all the fabulous dresses are so affordable!! I have been looking in magazines and on websites and some dresses cost £1000s but nothing in Expressions is priced over £795 but the quality is exceptional. Even after leaving the shop I emailed Carole to ask if she had a photo of my dress as I had thought that you were not allowed to take photos in a bridal shop. Carole replied almost instantly on a Sunday too! to assure me that I could have taken a photo as I had purchased the dress, but that she would be more than happy to put my dress on a mannequin, take photos and email them to me, which true to her word she did the very next day. I can't express how happy I am with Expressions and the team there. Everything is fantastic, everyone is so friendly and helpful and can't do enough, and the dresses are brilliant, and true bargains!! I would certainly recommend Carole and her team to any future brides.
Fantastic experience - Carole and her team are so helpful and really know their stuff!! I went in a month ago to look for 'the one' which every girl dreams of finding after finding the right man!!, and there were so many beautiful dresses which the shop clearly preserve to the best quality by ensuring people wear gloves touching the dresses. All of the dresses are currently in a mega sale and so all dresses are an amazing price and fab quality!! I tried on about 8 dresses and even the assistant suggested some dresses as she got a feel for my style. What impressed me was the space and mirrors you have to see yourself - I hadn't experienced this in other shops. Carole and her team were all happy to give thoughts but were never pushy. I found 'the one' and Carole helped me get some additional embellishments for the dress from the designer. Fabulous shop and team - highly recommend. Carrie
I cannot recommend Expressions Bridal Wear enough. Dresses are AMAZING and the customer service I received on the day I tried dresses on was 1st class. I had been to a couple of places before hand and didn't experience very nice service to say the least. I tried on a few dresses and was made to feel like a princess by the owner Carole. I bought my wedding dress there and then on day I tried it on and then we went on to buy 3 bridesmaid dresses and hired 6 full suits : Carole is amazing at what she does and was so helpful all the way through from buying my dress to the day I picked it up ready for my big day. The dresses are beautiful and at such amazing prices. If your looking for that DREAM dress then Expressions is where you need to go :
A fantastic place to shop for affordable bridal wear, with a great range of dresses available in all kinds of styles. Carole and her team have been incredibly helpful throughout, and could not have done any more to make me feel anymore comfortable in my initial wedding dress shopping. Would definitely recommend.
I recently visited Expressions with my daughter and was not impressed with the service. This was the first wedding shop we had visited and we made an appointment prior to our visit. On arrival, there was a large number of customers in the shop and our feelings were 'Why did we need to make an appointment'? We were then greeted by a member of staff who gave us some tags and told us to look at the dresses, put a tag on the dresses we like and not to forget to wear the gloves as we don't like customers touching the dresses. Obviously, my daughter had no idea of what the dresses looked like and was not asked what sort of dress she was thinking of or given any information. Once she had chosen the dresses, my daughter was taken to the dressing rooms and was helped into the dresses. At the same time, other people were trying on dresses which meant my daughter did not have complete choice as they were already taken. As my daughter is quite a small size, the dresses did not fit her. The assistant then put small cushion pads between the dress and her back to help the fit - which did nothing for my daughter and did not give a good image of the dress. We felt that if we had made an appointment, we should have been given individual service. We have since visited other wedding shops and have received individual customer service, which should be expected when paying a lot of money for a dress. I would not recommend this shop to any future brides.
I had gone to Expressions as they stocked the dress in the design I had been looking for and had not been able to find elsewhere. Despite trying on a size 12, and being a High Street size 10 which after doing some research should put me at a wedding dress 6-8, I could see that the dress would look lovely if in my size, though I still had another appointment I wanted to attend before deciding. So Carole took my measurements and I called her up a couple of days later to confirm I would purchase this dress. I returned from a holiday a week later to a receipt that had been sent confirming my sale and she had ordered a size 12!! I immediately emailed Carole to question this with no response, so rang late the next working day to speak with her about this and she reassured me that she would have done it for a reason and not to worry... So just over 3 months later I get a call to say my dress is in, and I make an appointment for a fitting, telling Carole that I just plan on trying it on for size ad taking it away that day, as I had arranged for a dressmaker in London to do any minor alterations required. I arrive a bit early on a Saturday morning after driving up from London, and although there are people in the shop it is locked, so I wait outside for 5-10 minutes and eventually have to ring to ask to be let in. And this is where it all started... After waiting until my appointment time and watching the bride-to-be before me trying on her snug if not too tight dress, I was excited to be about to try on my dream dress. The seamstress helps me in the fitting room, pulling out a dress that is full of creases and certainly did not have a nice new pressed look like I was expecting to be trying on to make a great first impression! As she is putting it on me she mentions how it is way too big, and then takes me out and starts pinning it in various places, saying she will need to remove the lace to take it in etc etc..! Sounds to me like a complete remake of the dress to get it to even fit my size let alone adapting it to my shape! So despite me telling Carole that I will not be using her seamstress, this seamstress thinks that she has a job out of my dress. Carole comes over and asks how it is, and I'm completely deflated by now thinking this is not the dress I was expecting, I want to refuse to buy it or ask her to re-order in the appropriate size, but even then it would take another 3 months or more which would be too risky, so I realise I just have to suck it up if I want this dress... And then to rub salt in the wound, Carole remains adamant that she has ordered the correct size, as going smaller would risk that it may be too small and there won't be enough material to take it out. Remember this is probably 3 sizes too big with about 5 inches that need to be removed, I'm sure the size below or even the one below that will not be too small! She refused to admit fault and would not take any responsibility for the mess up. I couldn't believe it... And then she guarantees me that the seamstress can make it perfect and I would love my dress when its ready. I hope so, that is the job of a seamstress. But they also expected me to pay for this service myself. I understand if you order a fitted dress and you want some minor alterations done that you would pay for this. But to pay her to completely remake the dress so it is the size it should have been when ordered in the first place... This is when Carole should have stepped up and said that she would cover the costs, take some responsibility that a mistake had been made, avoid me feeling like I need to be writing this review to warn others to be aware... If you think she has made a mistake in your order, don't just take her word, be assertive and make sure that she thoroughly checks all details and makes the necessary changes... Rant over!
I have got just got to tell everyone about the wonderful experience that i have endured over the last 13 months in preperation for my daughters wedding which took place 6th september this year . From start to finish the customer service from Expressions Bridalwear Carole and her team has just been flawless . The one to one treatment when choosing a wedding gown for my girls special day was fantastic ........ i cant understand anyone complaining about wearing little white gloves when looking through the dresses as i certainly wouldnt want my daughter trying on a dress with hand marks down it ! ..... more bridal shops should take on this very good idea . we also got our bridesmaids dresses and mens wear from here and again the service and fittings through the months were great . Carole and her team were very friendly and very approachable even the times that we popped in without an appointment carole was always pleased to see us . The day arrived and and all the dresses and suits looked amazing .......Carole helped us so much on the run up to that day making sure that we had everything looking spot on . I would highy recommend anyone who is looking for the total wedding experience to visit this shop in Hitchin Thankyou Carole and Team for making Leanne and Michaels day just perfect xxx
