Great hotel just beside the Stadium of Light in Sunderland.nnThe rooms are very well kept and the hallways almost always impeccable. The food is good, and the fitness room even more so.nnThe front desk staff and the restaurant/bar staff members were exceptionally polite and friendly. And everyone seemed to be up to their tasks, and prompt about them.nnWould definitely be recommending to everyone I know who goes to the Sunderland area.
Hotel is really hot and room air con not the best. Unfortunately my shower was more a bath due to drainage. Service is good with dinner being very nice and well priced. Great for the stadium, short walk to other amenities.
Stayed here to attend a function, locally. Staff were brilliant reception & Will on the bar, room and public areas clean and well presented. Small issue room, and request for further coffee for room facility, all sorted whilst we were out. Breakfast was good, although some food on hotplate not kept at high temp. Would definitely stay here again, probably next year!
The room was clean and comfortable with a good sized TV. The breakfast was hot and tasty. Just be careful not to time your arrival for when the football finishes like we did, as it’s very difficult to get to the hotel against the flow of all the people coming out of the stadium! Our mistake.
Overall very acceptable but with one exception - housekeeping! Never before have I seen a room “cleaned” in under two 2 minutes. Bedspread thrown up, pillows not fluffed, no cleaningnanywhere, not even a wipe down. Even an empty tissue box, lying out - clearly visible ignored. All other areas no problem & staff other than above very pleasant.
