Simply put Highness Cage & Tea Room is the best place for breakfast, lunch, brunch or a tea break in Highbury, Islington. Very good quality food, great service, super friendly atmosphere and true joy to chat with the staff. My favourites: Highness Royal, yoghurt granola, apple&carrot and apple&ginger fresh juices, mix berries smoothie and all of their coffees.
Such a warm and welcoming cafe in Highbury Barn! Their croissants, cakes and savory dishes are delicious. I tried the pistachio and orange cake today which I would highly recommend. The place has a very calming vibe and the staff are really warm and friendly too.
A very pleasant tea and coffee shop, cosy and welcoming, with delightful bakes and cakes and light food, and of course great warm beverages. This is the best little cafe in Highbury Barn. Pet friendly too. Enjoy.Food: 4/5
Incredibly friendly staff with the most reasonable prices, and good portion sizes, in Highbury. Really liked the upstairs seating area and is perfect for all occasions, including before an Arsenal match!Food: 5/5
I’m absolutely appalled about the customer service at this cafe. My friends and I went to see the food options and felt nothing but unwanted from the moment we stepped in. The rude looks made us all feel incredibly uncomfortable, and went upstairs to the seating area we were followed up with an order to leave as our friend didn’t pay to “eat in”. There was plenty of seating and no one waiting. No please no sorry no thank you. The panini was cold and soggy for the price of £7. We will not be returning or recommending to anyone.
A lovely quaint little spot. Great food with vegan options. Very friendly, helpful staff. There is a spiral staircase which takes you to a very comfortable, family feel sofa seated area. A lovely touch with very realistic flowers and flower tea cups crockery. I had the Veggie Baked Potato and the sun-dried tomatoes really made the fresh flavours pop! Highly recommended.
Highness is a little place at the end of the row of shops etc, it looks inviting and full of yummy cakes and sandwiches all laid out for you to choose at the counter and in the window, the staff are pleasant and welcoming, but they do seem to think that spending less than £10 is a strange idea, so they don’t take cards for less and asking where a cash point is just gets some strange looks and suggestions that you spend more money. Which isn’t too hard, the food isn’t cheap! We ordered the usual a Mocha and a Hot Chocolate and took a seat at an old Singer sewing machine table in the upstairs section, after a bit of a wait the drinks finally arrived. Descent size big red mugs though, that’s always a bonus and as usual if you don’t remember to ask for ‘extra hot’ then you get lukewarm instead and we did forget. But that being said this was good coffee.
Really love this cafe! Delicious coffee and pastries. The staff are always so welcoming and lovely to chat to. This place is a local gem.Food: 5/5
Such a welcoming cafe! The ambiance is really cute and calm, making it ideal for a good catch up with a friend. Both the coffee and food were amazing for a fair price. Vegetarian options: they’ve got plenty options
First time visiting, after lunch time on a Sunday, and we will definitely be back. The tea and scones were out of this world! Fresh and good! We had the sweet scones with the strawberry jam and earl grey tea. At first I was a little worried if I didn’t have enough clotted cream I use a lot of it! but even though we were upstairs the lady who we ordered from the counter came up to check it we needed more. And actually I was ok. Their clotted cream was really good. Lovely staff and place. Love the China dishes. Earl grey was loose leaf tea. Enough for a couple cups.
