Stayed for 2 nights last weekend as part of the hotels off peak deal, where you get your room for free if you spend a minimum of £50 per night on whisky in their lovely bar. No problem there! Everything about the experience was excellent - cosy & warm rooms, comfy bed, great shower, delicious food and friendly and knowledgeable staff who were all very welcoming and happy to chat. I had a great time and looking forward to going back again. Thanks.
Friendly service and good food. We came without a reservation and were told that there would be some delay from the kitchen, which was fine. The ales and lager were good, and the haggis starter fantastic. We told the man serving us at the start that we wil be having dessert, which was no problem. After the mains we asked for the dessert menu only to be told that the kitchen was now closed, sorry. Flabbergasted; we payed and left instead of staying to sample some of their large whisky collection at the bar.
We just ate and drank here. Some of the most friendly staff and people there are. The food was very good, but the whisky selection and location really made this place. The owner/proprietor was kind and very knowledgeable about whisky. I'll be staying here next time we are in the area. Nearby activities: There are about 50 distilleries in the nearby area and dozens of castles. Food & drinks: I got the burger. It was delightful, and the food was very fresh. They pour Guinness well here. Noteworthy details: Hundreds of different whiskies to try, both from Scotland and Japan. Ask the staff, they know a lot about whisky!
Straight in as my favourite pub in the world after spending a lovely evening sat at the bar, chatting whiskies with the friendly and v knowledgeable bar staff, and working our way through some of their impressive collection! Great atmosphere - part tourists, part locals. Wonderful buzz about a newly released Highland Inn exclusive whisky they’d just got in.
Fantastic food and service…a great bar to meet friendly locals and tourists alike. Also, this is one of the very best whisky bars in the world, not just Scotland. Can’t recommend highly enough.
Great food and friendly service. There was no room for us when we arrived, but some guests moved around to make us a table, and made us feel welcome. Highlander Inn has good food, professional service and lots of whisky varieties. Our second time there.Service: 4/5
Friendly, classic and endearing busy little pub in a beautiful setting. Great whiskey selection, cool staff and typical highland pub fare - though a million times better than other rural pubs I've been to across the UK. Good value all round
We made a late booking they squeezed us into a corner. Service was okay considering where we were sat. Food was good. photos of starters Large selection of whiskeys. Did order one specific whiskey but something different was put on the receipt.
Mains were great! Steak and ale pie was great as well as the rib-eye. The sticky toffee pudding was not something to be proud of. Worst is that the chef just said: “next time I’ll do better”. Although I left my pudding, I don’t recommend anyone to try it. It’s horrible. Service is good by the way.
One of only two pubs in the area, it's the one the locals go to! Friendly atmosphere, huge range of whisky, a small menu but nice food was had. If you are in the area well worth a trip
