Fast and friendly service. Nice chips. Good Chinese food along side fish and chips. Love that they also do spam fritter, so few places do a classic chip shop staple as this now. Clean, easy parking. Don't forget to take cash ad they don't take card payments. It is pricey Chinese food but good quality. Service is always fast.
I've been to every fish and chip takeaway except one in Reading and this is fine. It's perhaps the most expesive by ~20% and the fish was probably the greasiest a lot of oil pooled on the plate. Mushy peas were fine and given complimentary prawn crackers! Will try the other place next time. Queue wasn't as long as the other place. Cash only and a free withdrawal cash machine was a couple of shops away. The Chinese menu options were extensive and looked appealing. Parking: ~20
The best chips, the best satay sauce ever and great staff. The only downfall is there are basically no veggie/vegan options for either the chippy or Chinese. Once tofu or some other alternatives get added it would easily be 5/5
Fast Service, Friendly Staff, good quality food of a consistent quality. Good variety on the menu with decent price. Good access to Parking, extremely local. Only problem is you cannot with a card.
Used this Chinese for many years but very disappointed this evening chow mein very bad had a bisto style sauce very thick dark and glutinous….. not nice at all…. Called back and was told kitchen would be informed Time to try another I think
I like Highrise. Good quality food, good service, friendly staff, easily accessible with local parking. brilliant diversity on the menu with competitive prices.
Best Fish and Chips in the whole of Reading. Try the Cheeseburger in batter, it's a rarity but absolutely lovely. Wish we had somewhere that does this in Bournemouth.

very disappointed and definitely not coming here again. on 3rd may 2022 i took my wife and kids here. to start off with, the food was awful, and then the owner tried to kidnap my son, mark.
The only chinese we ever go to. Absolutely love the food here and the staff are really friendly. Ordering for collection is recommended on busy nights to avoid the queue. The chip shop side is fantastic too, we love ordering from here as a special treat. It is cash only but there's a free cash machine outside the co op but if it isn't working co op does do cash back. Avoid the cash machine to the right as it charges.
