Good food. Decent value. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. The £8 cheeseboard was overly froufrou for my liking. Everything was infused with something unusual unrelated to cheese. Thick Lizzy would call it a 'disgrace'. Normal local British cheese for normal local British people next time please. Otherwise excellent venue.
Hi Guys! How can I say? Amazing 5 . The place is extremely nice. Vibe atmosphere… The food is gorgeous. There is no doubt! This one is gonna be Our new favourite place. Good and Nice staff. Thank You Guys
Beautiful place, amazing food, nice staff, well intentioned but they could be better trained. They lacked experience and missed items in the order even when they were reminded. I give the 5 star because the food was exceptional, lots of diversity even for vegan and vegetarian dinners, and the place by the lake is idyllic. I hope they take into consideration my comment about the staff being more professional.
Very beautiful, cosy and romantic place to eat or for a date. Staff was absolutely helpful and kind. Food was delicious and portions are just the right. Price is for this location understandable. Parking is available right next to it.
Nice place to sit out and drink but food needs an improvement. Starter was amazing no doubt but main was an issue. Ordered medium rare steak and it came as medium well on verge of well done. Burger was good but the bun was very tough. Staffs were friendly and helpful.
This is a very disappointing review as it's amazing how well some things can be done and others a complete fail especially comming from the hospitality industry myself..... The location is absolutely stunning, decor, scenery and natural environment are above any, The food is absolutely divine and presented perfectly HOWEVER the service itself is dissmal, the staff are very young, clearly poorly trained and mostly slow and very clueless. Drink service is very inefficient despite the array of drinks the staff take very long in having anything served. Group of 7 joining for lunch, paying a fair amount of money for the privilege to dining in such a location placed inside lnitially, with finer weather the attraction of sitting outside once done we moved, however poorly treated asked to move a few times more as stated certain areas for dinning only after certain time when clearly the location was not overly busy or under any time constraints.... as we stayed a further few hours. This was a family reunion with those we had not seen due to covid, visiting from Ireland.... It's a very disappointing end to an otherwise impressive location...
A trip for a birthday dinner. Always have to book to get a table, but the food and service is always good, our go to restaurant in the area for a good hearty meal. Sunday roast with mixed bread starter.
It’s a gorgeous pub and the only reason why it’s not 5 stars is that the taste of the food was very, very unexciting in the sense that the vegan dish I ordered had a lot of sweetcorn in it which literally is a cheap ingredient and has no nutritional value and the little side salad I had was sadly very boring too because the mozzarella again was probably a cheap one from the supermarket with literally zero flavour. I asked for some grounded pepper which came after I had almost finished the salad I was hungry but that did not do the trick either. My son had a burger and a brownie wie vanilla ice cream and he liked it but then he is not very picky when it comes to burgers. The portions were on the small side.
Service was really good. We were given a table out of the way as we had 2 prams. We felt comfortable taking our time over our food. They were accomodating of my change to what was on the menu Food was good except the crispy chilli chicken had too much sauce all over it, would have been better to have it on the side. We went mid week for lunch so it was a bit quite & not much atmosphere
This is a great location for a pub/bar/restaurant. We’re looking to move to the area so after a house viewing checking out the area we stopped here for drinks and food. Being on the lake makes it a great place for socialising or even on your own I’d imagine. Yes it did seem to get busy but staff were very friendly and swiftly delivered our drinks and later food, of which I had a local lager and we shared picky-bits off the menu which went down a treat. Toilets were clean and tidy. Car parking is plentiful. I’ve given it five-stars as it really is a nice place, if I had to knock it then I’d say the train on the far side of the lake gets a bit annoying with its noise, but you kinda get used to it!
