Absolutely outstanding cocktails, the drink deals were brilliant and the presentation was beautiful. Would definitely recommend the Hen Dderwen.
Absolutely awful service. My partner ordered food for him and our son and was left waiting at the table for ages only to be told they forgot to put the order through to the kitchen. When he asked for a refund he was offered a scoop of ice cream each for him and our son as a sorry. After arguing with staff over a difference of 5 minutes they finally agreed to refund him for the food only, not even a refund for the drinks as an apology! This used to be a lovely pub but definitely won't be wasting our time there again. After all this, on the way out the door a lady said to my partner to leave a review well here it is!
Booked a table for our group for Sunday lunch. Every single meal was stone cold. We decided not to stay for food. Refund was issued however. One in our group was a little rude to the waiter in frustration. Clearly weren't their fault. Felt guilty about that afterwards to be honest. Wouldn't return again though.
The service was terrible. Very slow. Took 20 minutes to be served for a drink when it was not even busy. Food even worse. Tasteless. Hair in the burger. Time from when first main being brought out to the last main to come out was around 15 minutes. Staff were all sitting around drinking. Whole experience was shocking. Will not be going here ever again.
Had an amazing mixed grill. The staff were warm and welcoming especially the tall guy. Would deffo recommend to anyone passing new management have seemed to turn the place around
We used to visit regularly. We visited once again yesterday. Our summary is we won't again. I had booked a table for 5 pm- it wasnt. The table we were given had debris on it - the edges of the table were filthy, crusted never cleaned. The cracks are showing in more ways than one. Music not suitable and loud.
Extremely disappointed with meal today! Had the chicken tikka, no rice available so just chips on offer, it came cold so had to be reheated also a very stingy portion! This place has definitely gone downhill, have been to this place many times over the years and this I must say will be the last.
We visited Hen Dderwen in sketty park swansea on the 21st November 2022 at 5.30pm. We decided to order a hunters chicken and a mixed grill and garlic bread. We were told they were out of all steak so I could not have the mixed grill and they were out of garlic bread. So we ordered the hunters chicken and fries and gammon egg and fries. Both meal's looked like a small child's portion, the small amount of thin fries quantity less than 10 were under cooked rubbery and cold, the chicken was small rubbery and luke warm, the gammon was very small full of fat and cold, the egg was broken and dry, the one mini onion ring was soggy and the unusual serving of one tablespoon of mushy peas was luke warm. The food looked like midday scraps warmed up in the microwave. It genuinely felt like the cook had thrown together a concoction of scraps found off other guests plates. It is such a pity as the pub itself has such potential, a nice interior and relaxed atmosphere. However We left there hungry, in shock and feeling sick partly due to the mess we had just consumed and partly due to being £30 out of pocket. I ended up calling into the local chipshop, and buying pie and chips to compensate for the child's portions. It is very sad to see a local pub that once had a good reputation drop to such a poor standard. If we weren't in such shock then we would have taken pictures or complained, but they had one bar person who was multitasking serving drinks, waitressing and clearing tables. Honestly I have never in my life experienced such bad food.
Delicious food and very friendly service. Warm atmosphere will definitely recommend. New management and staff are so helpful.
Just had a wonderful meal 16 of us from Laugharne Court really enjoyed.
