Beautiful gardens and wonderful cafe. Well worth a visit!
Even in the wind and rain this is a special place. Plenty of autumn colours and a lovely one way walk around the beautiful old walls. Very well organised. The tea shop in the Victorian glass house under the vines is a treat. Tea and scones delicious.
Left the castle and wandered round to the walled garden. We were shocked, in a proper Yorkshire way I might add, at the admission fee of £7 each. For four of us that seemed a bit steep given that we wouldn't be seeing the gardens at their best. We will visit again in summer, and brace our Yorkshire wallets ;

A nice local place to chill and relax in lovely gardens. Run for a very worthy cause too making a visit even more worthwhile.
A medium sized flat walled garden with fruit trees, vegetables and flowers. The vegetables are used in the cafe so you know most of the food is fresh there are plant sales as well. The ticket is a type where you can visit as many times as you want in 12 months. A worthwhile visit.
Late summer and looking so busy and bright and colourful. A delightful place to relax in.
Beautiful place to spend some time. Well worth the drive up.
