Played Heaton Park Golf Course today was supprised at what a fantastic condition the course was in especially the greens. Credit to the greenkeepers Very hilly course with lots of blind shots. Once you have played a few times you know where to hit the ball for best position. Fantastic views from the golf course. Staff friendly and welcoming.
Me and My 2 boys contacted them to play when we travelled to Manchester from Boston in May 2023. They were very helpful and nice. Rental clubs were available, and course was a fun change from local Boston courses. Staff was great..... Recommend for a fun day.
Great course. Fantastic views some really good holes. Ended up with a birdie and five pars. Shot under 100 for the first time. Only negative play was really slow. Got stuck behind two four balls and I was on my own. Some daunting tee shots but a great challenge
I’ve played here a lot over the years and the new guys running it have got it into the best condition I’ve ever seen it. Quite hilly and a lot of blind shots but if you’re hitting it straight it’s not a problem. Some excellent holes and some amazing views. One of the best courses in the north west without a doubt.
Very good pitch and putt course, has plenty of features and challenges that will bring you back playing it again and again - no two rounds are the same. Generally has been well maintained and a few holes now have new teeing off mats however some need replacing.
Seriously. This is the best municipal course in the area. Easily. Drains UNBELIEVABLY well even in mid winter. The greens are still running true even at the end of October. £16 a pop. Must visit, mega underrated golf course this is.
Pitch and putt good for kids and lower ability golfers.. can get busy so go early in morning. Has main full 18 hole golf course for when you get better!
Went for a full 18 round. It’s a tough course that has a lot of hill climbing. I lost a lot of balls in the rough on this course. Once your ball is in the rough, it’s gone for good.
Very hilly!!! Lost a few golf balls due to not being able to see over the hills. I would advise not to play if you're over 20 HCP. Greens and actual care of the course was fantastic. Friendly staff and very helpful. Just be prepared to have sore legs afterwards.
My dad and me played this course some 20 odd years ago and as we were in the area thought we'd play again for old times sake. Unfortunately we were far from impressed. Don't get me wrong there are some very picturesque and challenging holes, if only you could find any grass on the tee boxes to actually tee off from. Then the pace of play was absolutely ridiculous, we were stuck behind a couple of four balls who didn't even consider allowing us to play through even though they spent the majority of their rounds looking for each other's balls in the trees! The greens in fairness were ok, although there was quite a bit of debris on a few of them. The bunkers are there but youll be lucky to find any sand in them, there are rakes in there but i think they might be for the hundreds of weeds that are residing in them! Maybe they took all the sand out to fill the new beach feature they have for the kids in the park? There was a whole hole missing that none of the reception staff thought to mention to us, we spent about 10 minutes looking for the 15th hole which when the group behind us caught us up and told us there wasn't currently a 15th at least it gave the slow four ball ahead of us chance to get a hole ahead of us for the 1st time. There was far more negatives than positives and if I could actually be bothered to list them all I'd probably be here all night. Honestly, if your in the area and fancying a round, try one of the many other courses within a 4 or 5 mile radius instead.
