Absolutely fantastic food . We were so impressed we went twice this weekend. Friday night was admittedly busy, and after being told food would be at least 45 minutes wait, we went and sat patiently. No more than 25 minutes had passed before all our food came out. Piping hot and very tasty we were incredibly happy. We returned again on Sunday for another experience and were equally impressed. Lamb roast dinner, beef roast dinner and two veggie bangers and mash and because we wanted to make the most of it we also ordered the two portions of chips and one sweet potato fries. It was glutinous and worth every bite. We didn't leave anything. Staff were friendly and atmosphere was relaxed Couldn't give it a higher recommendation.

Went here after walking the dogs along the river. Thought we would try it as it was described as dog friendly. What a treat that was. We all had beef dinner and what an amazing dinner it was! Will 100% be back! Better tham any dinner ive ever had at a restaurant

Very nice place, serving food even on a Sunday afternoon! Four of us eating and everyone happy except I was disappointed with the 'mushy peas' served with my fish and chips. They were watery, not seasoned and a lurid green so suspect they came from a catering can! Such a shame as was expecting some proper stuff...

Just had the most amazing lunch- the sausage & mash were outstanding and the home made fish finger sandwiches were off the scale! Dog & kid friendly too and you can tell the staff love the place 🐶Find this place if you’re in Hexham - you won’t be disappointed 👍🏻

For years this place was on its last legs.... Alan and his wonderful staff have transformed it into a great pub and diner. Great atmosphere, great food, excellent ales. Cosy and informal - and top notch background playlists.
