It was a quiet weekday night, and a few of us from work went for curry. We were greeted very nicely and they pushed two tables together for us. Service was polite and efficient. Now the food, it was hot and well cooked comming out quickly to us all. Full of flavour and unlike a lot of Indians it wasn't oily. I asked for a medium hot dish to be spiced up and it hit the spot nagga style. Fabulous meal. Not bad price wise either. It's a smallish place that can seat about 40 to 60 people. I had to park in the nearby supermarket car park as the village is quite small.
Very disappointed third time there. Keep giving them another try but failed drastically on Saturday. Asked for mixed starter it came with no lamb. When informing them they took it away. Finally it came back with the most disgusting meat on the plate. My wife smelt it and it was appalling. Didn’t look like lamb. We all stopped eating then in amazement. I asked for butter chicken which they said they could make. When it came it was a korma. Finally on the hygiene. The waiter before we had finished started collecting the cutlery which he thought was unused. He then put them back with the fresh ones in a tray. My son told me he had used the knifes sorry worded experience ever in an Indian. Never again
Ordered over the phone after selecting our choice from the menu on the website. Using the website prices the order came to £22.35. When the driver arrived he charged £29 for the food, I paid assuming I had calculated it wrong. I checked my calculations and confirmed I was right. I rang Hawwa to complain and they said they could not change the website as they did not have the correct password. They would not offer a refund.
We were scammed by ordering poppadoms, got charged £10.50 for them! Also, a random £5 was added onto the bill with no description! Also felt like we were going crazy as they had the same song on repeat the entire night. Food tasted good but took a while to arrive even though the place was fairly quiet. I believe the restaurant is under new ownership though as the restaurant used to be a lot better a few years ago.
Disappointed! Pickles consisted of a pot of mango chutney "syrup" a pot of chopped onions and a pot of tasteless yellow runny something. Poppadoms slightly over cooked. Lamb tikka was extremely bland just tasted of coconut. More like an orange coloured korma. The chefs special boolani was like a brown tikka with no coconut. I've had better Indian ready meals from a supermarket.
Very small restaurant which looks and feels like they are midway through redecorating. The staff are friendly enough but not the most attentive with taking orders. Unfortunately we were sat at a table right next to the kitchen door which gave a horrendous squeak whenever it opened and was quite jarring. Food however was very good, i thorough enjoyed my meal, i only wish there had been a bit more rice!
Such a peaceful place, The staff are lovely, the food is Amazing, from the colours to the flavours, it is fabulous! The decor is lovely too really nice blues and lighting used, also love the big painting in the centre. The music isn't too loud and it really relaxing, can't wait to dine there again!
1. Web prices didnt reflect actual price when ordering which increased the bill by £20! Staff did say under new ownership so Web prices no longer applicable. 2. Non existent veggie option but agreed to cook Potato and Bhindi okra - when delivered it was just potatoes and then tried to 'fob me off' by saying it was a name of the dish and not actual Okra!! 3. Veggie starter platter onion bhaji's were undercooked, some deep fried mixed veg dumplings all inedible. 4. Lamb chops on brink of being cremateted. Very poor customer service, no goodwill gesture to put things right!
I may have posted this review twice but here goes. I am not sure if these guys have just started a delivery service? Used last Saturday for a delivery and a meal for three adults delivery on time hot and very good quality and quantity. I didn't want to post a review until a second meal, tried again this evening meal for two, yet again delivered 10 mins earlier than advised hot and very tasty these guys need to be applauded on the service and value. I am not someone who posts reviews on a regular basis, in this case I find it warrented I hope to use again in the near future and thank you for a positive experience
Shocking customer service. We ordered from the online menu for home delivery and were told it would be with us "within the hour" after an hour and ten minutes we called to be told he's just left the takeaway and be there soon another 20 minutes we only live ten minutes away we were told "he's just leaving the kitchen now" funny he had just left twenty minutes previously. Another 20 minutes and he arrives with the food which had suddenly gone up in price by £7!! And when questioned he said they had a new menu. Which is clearly not the online price. So we had beans on toast and wont be ordering from them again if you can't be honest with your customers and not fob them off and then make the prices up as you go along you won't keep customers long.
