Brilliant nature reserve for family with teenage kids. Suggested donation of £5 per adult, £2 for loan of binoculars (credit cards accepted), we spent 90mins exploring the 2.6miles of board walk (there and back)(all boarded except the first 400m on a shared track), and 4 large bird hides (chairs facing openable slit windows and illustrated bird guides in each hide, one hide on slits - all accessed via inclined walkways - no steps). Toilets only in visitors centre, nice place to have a packed lunch after with hot drinks purchased from the centre. Large car park. 2 wheelchairs available for use is needed. Enthusiastic volunteers and free illustrated A4 sheet of birds in the area to help bird spotting novices. Great plans to make the area absolutely huge (raising funds), but already has a variety of habitats and hides to the different areas.

Beautiful walk in a well maintained area with good boardwalks making it easy access for all and very pleasant staff willing to spend time and have a chat. Plenty of birds and wildlife to see.
