Stopped at Harvester for lunch.. The lunch menu was 3 courses for £14.99 or 2 courses for £12.99..nnSurprised not to see a Lasagne or meat Chilli Con Carne option on the menu.. as these often feature.nnWe started with a nice tasty bowl from the free salad bar, which looked clean, fresh and recently topped up along we a nice roll.nnWe ordered the Breaded Mushrooms x 2. Oddly these were more Battered than Breaded so resembled Mushroom Balls, nice but not the best. The Garlic Mayo was lovely and flavoursome.nnWe opted for the Camembert & Cherry Tomato Tart along with the 7oz Gammon with Fried Egg and Pineapple..nnThe Tart was a nice change, but wouldn't rush back for it, however the Jacket Potato was gorgeous, fluffy and light. The Coleslaw that came out with the meal was not as nice as the Coleslaw available from the salad bar.nnThe Gammon was a good size and cooked well, along with the Egg and Pineapple. The Mushy Peas were nice, slightly wet and the Chips were a little dry, but in fairness I was too full to eat many. The Onion Rings just a little greasy.nnAll in all it was nice and good value for money.
Visited this evening. Very quickly shown to our table. The person waiting on us came fairly quickly and asked if we needed a couple of minutes which we agreed as we hadn't decided what we wanted yet. They were very observant and noticed when we were ready. They were very pleasant and we were happy with the service. The drinks came quickly and the food in good time, we also visited the salad bar. We ordered the triple combo which was really nice. We were asked if everything was OK. We enjoyed our meal and service right up until we asked for the bill, before we could mention we had a voucher they went to retrieve our bill, on their return I said I asked if they accepted the Blue light voucher, there was no reply they just snatched my phone out of my hand and walked off to their till with it. It happened so quickly my husband didn't even notice what had happened he only saw them storm off after slamming the tray with the bill and muttering something under their breath, and said it to be rude, and noticed their attitude had changed when we said we had a voucher. They didn't come back with a card reader just my phone with a new bill, we asked another server for a card reader which they said they would get our server, They came with a card reader and walked off . I finished the payment then they came back and wished us a nice evening but even that felt forced. I wanted a nice evening out with my husband and after our meal we wanted to stay for a couple of drinks but after the experience we had we just wanted to get out of there. I thought this could be an isolated experience but there is another review left by a customer with a similar experience to ours only a few weeks ago. The experience would not put me off visiting this harvester again but I would certainly asked to be moved if we had the same server and keep my phone from being taken from me without my permission.
We had a lovely lady with short dyed blonde hair . She was funny and great help . The food was great too. And all you can eat salad bar. Never been to a harvester before it was great and lovely definitely going to go to another one if we can.
Had a meal with friends last night. Food was very good. Laura was dealing with our orders. We have been several times for meals and we always ask to be put in Laura's area if possible. We all feel that Laura makes the evening more fun and enjoyable. We have a laugh with her. She is very professional and always gives us great service. Looking forward to our next visit not only to enjoy the food but to catch with Laura. She is a great asset to the establishment.
The service was very good, happy smiling and always helpful.nThe food was lovely, friends had mixed grills, and others had a rack of ribsnThe atmosphere was good, people enjoying themselves, not thinking they were better than anyone else. Great environment.nHowever, there was something that I didn't likeyou know it was coming!nThis doesn't reflect on the service at all.nDirty people, putting their fingers in the sauces to taste, picking out bread and putting it back, overfilling bowls dripping sauces on the floor. Do they not know its bottomless! Or get another bowl. Coughing over salad. Harvester help!
