Went for lunch today and as always love harvester. Salad was delicious as always. I tried something that I hadn't had before which was the pulled chilli beef. For the price, it wasn't worth it at all with hardly any brisket in there. I also tried the halloumi fries which I'm sure kids would love as they just taste like normal mozzarella cheese sticks. Service was very slow but they were busy on a Sunday. Will still be going back to try some different dishes. :-
Always enjoy eating at Harvester, The George. Had the festive menu recently which was fabulous! Value for money food and drinks. Covid measures clear hand sanitizer at the entrance and staff wearing masks. Overall really enjoyed it :
We've been three times over past few months and this Harvester is consistently good. The staff are really nice and the chefs actually know what they are doing, no 'bung-in-the-mic' meals here! The pork belly and ribs are cooked for hours and really are exceptional. Prices are good and lots of options for veggies. Highly recommended.
Our server was brilliant, a young lady named Amy D. She was so attentive, extremely professional and courteous, and couldn't do enough for us. More than this, she had a manner and attitude about her that showed she had a real passion for her role. We observed her tending to other diners and she was so, so helpful and polite, assisting with menu choices, checking diners were happy and generally showing how great service should be, happy and bubbly with it. On top of this, the food was wonderful, we could not fault it, so a special mention also to the chef, Tom...? All in all, a wonderful experience. Thank you, Harvester, a great evening out!
Exceptional service by the waiter but didn't quite catch his name man bun, black stud earrings, walks very quickly and has a polite, soft tone to his voice. Today, the restaurant was heavily understaffed and the menu had been reduced no steak available as stated by the manager. However, despite this challenging evening, the team held strong and delivered outstanding service. First and foremost, the guy serving us was switching back from tables 6 to 11 like no tomorrow, as well as scooping salad from the salad bar for around ten customers simultaneously. Never have I seen someone at Harvester operate with such pace and spatial awareness. As it currently stands, the same person will take both your order and serve you at the salad bar; I was highly impressed that despite being busy with table 11, he still noticed me standing there waiting for the salad. He also remembered all the small details, such as subtle changes to the food, extra cutlery/plates and condiments. In addition, his communication with the customers and the kitchen really demonstrated his potential to go above and beyond for his guests; very polite and highly skilled in what he does! Furthermore, he was specifically swift at cleaning up other tables and setting things up, as well as bringing finished plates back to the kitchen; he is clearly the type of hard worker who always looks for things to do I hope his efforts don't go unappreciated, because his tenacious work ethic truly made the difference for his guests tonight. Subsequently, I cannot stress enough how efficient the team worked together; it was like clockwork! Remember, the restaurant was HEAVILY understaffed today and I think everyone noticed how busy it was the early summer school holiday season did not help at all, because customers were literally swarming in by the minute. Moving on, the food was delicious and showed great consistency. Grill was perfect and wait times were kept as low as possible. Presentation of the food was also at a high standard; top quality! The desserts were handled by the servers themselves, due to staffing reasons but nevertheless, I was very impressed at how they managed to handle the situation in a professional manner. Honestly, give these guys a raise! To finalise, my experience at Harvester will be forever remembered: efficient and honourable service, scrumptious food with a vast menu and felt very cosy throughout the evening inside the restaurant. Moreover, for all those looking to drive here, parking spaces are plentiful! 5 Stars All The Way!!!
Although the meals we ordered were very nice the greeting when we walked in was not, ‘can I help’. The salad bar was poor and when we asked for raw onions the managers reply was not available and the same when I asked for the bacon bits. Sauces not replenished. No apologies or politeness just abrupt responses. Definitely put me of going there again where we used to be regular customers
First time I've visited a harvester in about 15 years. Food was much better than I was expecting. My beef short rib literally fell off the bone and had good flavour. Salad bowl selection was a little limited but all looked to be quite fresh. Allergy advice on the menu and online was excellent. Our 3yr old had broccoli as part of his main and that lolled very very poor. Shame really as he quite likes broccoli. I'm pleased to see that harvester have moved on from old garden equipment nailed to the wall. It's shame these chains go through image changes yet dony seem to have a decent attention to detail when it comes to decorating. Paint looks to have been thrown on in places. Service was good. Waiting staff were friendly and food was delivered very quickly. Worth noting that our visit was in a Thursday so probably a quiet time of the week.
Service was not great, felt like the server was insulting me, questioned me on my meal choice , asking me 3 times If My partner remarked on how bad his Service was, and how horrible he was being to me. She told me multiple times to just get up and leave, but I felt too rude to walk away. This used to be my favourite restaurant growing up, but I'm not sure if I feel comfortable going back.
Breakfast was really nice however the garlic mushroom was a bit of a shock on breakfast when asked why was told that's all they had
We booked couple hours ahead requesting a booth for Birthday celebration and were pleased to be accommodated after 5 minute wait. However, my annual Birthday reminder email was misleading as did not contain a voucher like other years or make clear there was no offer or discount. However, when I brought to servers attention they offered a free dessert which we shared.
