It was a busy Saturday evening at The Orchard Beefeater, but our table for 10 was ready and our server Eva was very friendly and efficient. The food was very nice and had to make sure there was room for pudding. Definitely recommend the Banoffee Sundae.
Thank you to all of the staff for looking after us this evening and giving us the most excellent service. We came here tonight as a couple to celebrate my birthday and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a fabulous night. The food was delicious we ordered from the festive menu but the staff were amazing as nothing was too much trouble. I have a range of medical needs, however the staff made sure they accommodated these whilst still being friendly and professional at all times. A big shout out to Kacy our waitress, Taylor the amazing bar man and Henry who helped out to ensure the service run smoothly - what a credit to the Beefeater team, thank you guys.
Had a lovely meal here for a birthday. We were treated well by staff. The menu options were good. The food was a bit hit and miss, but overall enjoyable and good valueFood: 3/5
Met up with a group of friends for a celebratory Xmas meal. We had enough people to be given a private-ish zone, but it also meant it was hard to attract attention. The bar was seemingly overwhelmed, by the combination of casual drinkers and those having a meal, hence just the 3*. The cheerful server, she was 4*, did her best to bring the food simultaneously, but a couple of desserts were a long time coming. The Xmas Roasted Vegetable pie was a welcome change to 'nut roast' or some other meat substitute. The Traditional Xmas pudding is also recommended.
The safety measures imposed to implement social distancing is strict and very good. The food does taste lovely--especially their Sunday Roast. Last time I went there with my family, we also tried their desserts too not all, just some ; Below are some of the photos from my visit it includes the desserts we ordered at the end!
Unfortunately short staffed which put the ladies under pressure, although they were doing their best. Food ok and even better as they were running an offer - which was great value. Sad to see the Spitfire, Polish Air memorial behind an ugly black fence and looking decidedly unloved and dirty - not very good in my opinion, could someone not get out there and give it a clean?!
Awful. Before the lockdown it was a great place. It's gone downhill from mediocre to abysmal over the last few months. The very friendly waiter brought us first, with a proud smile, not a menu but a long list of menu items that were not available! I was one of a group of seven diners who came there monthly. We received the menus and ordered our meals. After more than 20 minutes the starters hadn't arrived and we then noticed that they were all on the kitchen counter under those heating lamps. We had to find the waiter and ask him to bring them to our table. When they arrived there they were cold and had to go back to be re-heated. Main courses took ages to arrive and were mediocre. We got out as soon as possible and all my friends agreed that we should never ever go back there. Just to make it even more awful, if you overstay your welcome in the car park you will get a £100 fine thanks to the TV cameras there - that should really encourage new customers. That's what you get as loyal customers in return for spending £150 or more every month!!! There's a major staff shortage there and I am not surprised. The management is awful and I'd rather be on income support than work there. I found an infinitely superior venue for our meals - Ye Olde Greene Man, between Northwood and Rickmansworth. Huge car park - no CCTV cameras, charges, time limits or fines, very friendly and welcoming staff, excellent food and a lovely 'olde worlde' building with a bar and lots of nooks and crannies. If you are disappointed by the decline of The Orchard, as we were for months, try this place - I think you'll want to come back. The secret of this venue? The staff all seem to be enjoying themselves doing their jobs. Makes a huge difference. They have a revolutionary policy, it seems, of making customers feel welcome from the moment they walk in. I hope it catches on elsewhere... Parking: As above - copious and free Wheelchair accessibility: Looks fine - no obstacles
A very pleasant experience. Good food, pleasant atmosphere. It was a busy evening and it felt like there was a shortage of staff on duty. However, the staff were very pleasant and helpful.Food: 5/5
Great pub with good food. I needed a place to work and the female member of staff on breakfast duty on the 10th February was very helpful and found the perfect place. She is a credit to your establishment.Food: 5/5
