The tiniest little Sandwich shop you’ve ever seen. Every time we’ve walked past there’s someone outside and another in ordering, which tells you something. My daughter wanted a breakfast sandwich specifically from here so we finally stopped by. She got a sausage, fried egg & cheese butter & ketchup and swore it was delicious, even pouted once she was done. “I can’t replicate that at home”. Add in the Gentleman and Woman behind the counter were incredibly kind.
Friendly mom and pop sandwich shop with a good selection of toppings to explore. Nothing fancy but hits the spot. Walk around the corner and eat outside the Tate Museum facing St. Paul’s Cathedral. Perfect for a sunny afternoon.
Long queues during lunch hour piqued my interest, tried the flame grilled chicken sandwich and BAP on different occasions. The line moves quite fast which is ideal during lunch hour. Can understand why they always draw a lunchtime crowd - simply delicious!Food: 5/5
£6 for a 'breakfast bap' sound a bit steep? JUST TRY ONE and if you're not impressed then it's possible you may need your head recalibrating. was due to work a camera job at the tate modern with an insultingly early start, meaning a few of us crew were looking for pre-sunrise munch, turns out this place was open-ish and the very kind lady had my breakfast sizzling in seconds. i ordered the full breakfast bap in the wholemeal option with brown sauce. HUGE, sir. i had to wait a bit before i had enough time while at work to tuck in and by then the ingredients had permeated through the crucial bits of the bun - perfect. having been given similar later on from leon that was a quarter of the size, i can reliably tell you to go independent, go baptastic or home. their bakewell tarts are quite good as well. sole downside keeping this from being a 5 star was an unfortunate slip-up resulting in me being charged for all 3 of our orders, but be fair - this WAS not far past half five the morning. easily forgiven.
I had a really bad experience this morning at 7:30am, just starting my day. I have been disrespected and treated really rude by one of the ladies working in the shop just because she got confused with one of the orders. I don’t know if she is the manager, owner or one of the colleagues but I feel extremely sorry for the rest of the team as I could see how she treats everyone if they do something wrong or things do not go the way she likes them. It is so sad to still find people like that.
Great sandwiches for a grab-and-go lunch. There are also a couple tables in the warmer months if you wanted to sit and eat. Owners are super friendly will always proactively ask your preference of what goes in your sandwich so there’s no anxiety in sandwich ordering.
Great little traditional sandwich shop. Great for breakfast sandwiches and coffee. Also good range of lunchtime filings.
Best English breakfast ever, delicious sandwiches and super kind people, loved itFood: 5/5
A must try mom & pop shop! Breakfast #3 is perfect - highly recommended. Very good value for London. Whether you are a local or on holiday, Bankside Sandwich shop provides all with friendly service and classic English eats!
This tiny sandwich shop is now on my favourites list. I got an egg, grilled tomato, grilled mushroom and hash brown bap for £5 and it was nearly as big as my head. Some people next to me had a full English breakfast and beans on toast and the portions were huge. There are a few seats outside you can use if the weather is good.
