The Hare and Hounds at Speen is all you would want from a modern coaching inn. the Inn. We have an excellent restaurant & bar, with all food being locally sourced and freshly cooked. Why not enjoy our Friday Steak & Grill Night, or the fabulously authentic Thursday Curry Night? Simply put it’s great food, simply cooked & sensibly priced.

In addition to the restaurant & bar, the Inn has 30 comfortable en-suite bedrooms, equipped with free wi-fi and satellite television, ideal for business or leisure. Privately run by Jonathan & Jean Nelsey and our friendly and attentive staff, this really is a great place to wine, dine & stay.

4* is given because I had really good service and food, but... The vegetarian curry was more of an oriental dish rather than an Indian. It was like a leftover veg curry with sweet and sour sauce (leeks and roast potato) The 2 glasses of red wine that were ordered were also poor tasting. I had the pork shoulder, fantastic..i also had the terrine to start which was also very tasty. The service on entry and throughout was great and I couldn't fault it.

Really good food and great service. New Barn was very well made and homely. Overall, highly recommended

Attended for an evening meal out. Lovely food and the service was brilliant. Great open fire in the main restaurant too.

Came for a friends retirement party. We ate in the Barn, Lovely restaurant, great food. Would recommend the braised beef and chocolate brownie. Had a fantastic night.

New ‘The Barn’ extension is ace. Food reasonably priced and tasty. Landlord is a really nice guy. Get in here if you’re in Speen!
