Lovely pub to visit! The food is delicious! Great outdoor seating areas on nice days. All staff have always been very helpful and friendly. Beautiful surroundings walks to go on also. Would certainly recommend visiting here!
Fantastic food and drink. Rang and was able to book a table for 12pm. Very friendly staff on phone and also in the pub. Very attentive and friendly. Food and beer were excellent. Had a carvery which was exceptionally filling and very tasty. The meet was cooked really well. The Inn has a car park a short walk from entrance, indoor and outdoor seating. Clean toilets. Lovely real warm fire and great atmosphere inside. Will definitely return soon.
Great place. Luckily it was nice enough to sit outside so took advantage of the Stable Bar where you can order your food, same menu as inside the pub, and it’s delivered to your table. Good service and food was spot on. I had pie and chips and the steak was tender and tasty :
Nice Location with good food options and friendly staff. Went here for lunch during the half term with a pre booked table. The staff were friendly and inviting, taking our food and drink orders promptly. There is a good choice of food and we opted for a starter and a mains each mine from the specials menu. The food was enjoyable for the price, but didn't blow us away, the Pheasant wellington was a good portion size and pastry was nicely cooked, the gravy was a little on the salty side, but there was plenty of it and the roasted vegetables were very good. Overall it hit the spot and I would recommend here if you are visiting close by and wanted to refuel after a walk or as a pit stop if you're driving through free parking on site
First time visit and was really impressed! The place is larger than you'd expect especially when you include outside seating, too.. I arrived just before midday and was lucky to get a table.....so please try and book a table in advance!! The service was quick, and the food of a high standard. The building itself had real character, too. I can see why it's so popular!
Delightful place and great value too. I had the mixed grill and was absolutely stuffed worth a try if you want a challenge. It also came with uncommon dishes such as liver and kidney which was a excellent change from the normal. Our waiter was a good laugh too
Cut down menu outside ,some favourites gone ,prices up a lot ,sometimes I just want a pint and s bowl of chips after a walk ,not here ,chips only available with a main meal .My opinions on this pub have changed recently, you can only order drinks if you are drinking outside at the outside bar, they said I had to order outside even though 3 people were stood doing nothing inside and a huge queue was outside, so I ordered outside, about half an hour later I went to the inside toilet, walked back through the bar, someone buying drinks inside and carrying them outside, different people different rules, we still drink here and eat food outside now and again only if there is no queue outside, where the service is extremely slow. Plenty of other pubs who will take my money with no stupid rules.
A wonderfully located pub / Restaurant offering a great selection of local Fare and Traditional Dishes . Good selection of Ales and Spirits. We were Seated in The Stable Bar where we ordered food, and drink , All served by Gill and her colleague. Service with a smile, Dog friendly, and delicious food . The steak & Stilton pie were an absolute delight. Well worth a visit to explore their extensive menu, booking a table is advised because of the popularity of this establishment. Thanks to Gill and her colleague who Made our meal Wonderful
Excellent food, all 4 of us had the Roast Chicken dinner at lunch time, it was a bit of a long wait but it was very nice and plenty of it. A lovely building too
Gem of a pub, great surroundings, the meal we had was bang on and service was excellent. Would recommend without a doubt.
