Been to Handsworth Park a couple of times over the years. First time by tram to Soho Benson Road, but walk too long, so last couple of times caught the no 16 bus here. There is the Handsworth Park Arts Trail to find around from local artists. Park split by a railway line with several bridges. Is close to St Mary's Church, which is usually open for a visit during Birmingham Heritage Week each September.
It was a pleasant experience to visit this beautiful park. It's in the middle of residential areas, reasonably large with hilly terrain. The walkways are wide. There are two beautiful small lakes with plenty of ducks to feed. There is a kids' play area and a court for basketball/football practice. I loved it.
The park is very big, natural and beautiful with playground and different side attractions including art works. It is ideal place for a family picnic or large gathering as it's spacious and clean. Handsworth park is worth visiting. Check out some of the pictures I took.
Pretty park, kept clean. There is a bridge that leads to more of the park, cricket happens here as well. Quite a few paths and a nice place to walk dogs. Lots of wildlife here and the birds are all used to people being around. Lake in the middle is very pretty. Playground: There is a children's playground on one side, near to where the leisure centre is. There is a car park next to it. Dog-friendliness: Lots of paths and green areas to walk your dog. There are special bins for dog waste, too. Picnic area: Lots of grass to sit on, or under trees. There are also benches dotted around.
Absolutely awesome and very serene place to be especially when there is no carnival in which case the atmosphere is electric. You will see avid health enthusiasts, dog walkers, strollers, swan duck feeders, casual walk play area for kids you name it caters for everyone even has a tuck shop. A place to visit with its historical significance Playground: Plenty of recreational facilities for the kids play area Dog-friendliness: Perfect for the dog strollers Picnic area: Plenty off open spaces as well as benches
One of the best parks i have ever been too and would definitely reccomend bringing pets, children, people who love nature and fishing to come to this park. Very spacious and massive parkm lots of trees and nature and playgrounds for kids. There's also a playground for teenagers. One of the best parks I've been too and will keep going to this same park most of the time.
Nice place you go for a walk on a sunny day. There are plenty of spaces and benches to sit and relax. The park is fairly clean and tidy.
Beautiful oasis in a densely populated area of Birmingham. Tidy and generally appreciated. I for one enjoy this green heaven of peace and tranquility. Park staff are friendly and polite. Always busy and can be seen chipping away at their tasks. Mornings are by far the best!
It's a good soothing place to walk around. I used to go there. But there are some people who smoke weed in this area which makes me embarrassed in front of relatives. The authorities should take action against those smokers and they should put them in jail...
Lovely park. 10 min walk around lake, however the lake is now surrounded by trees and bushes so you can't really see the lake anymore whilst waking around, it's only open in a few areas, this doesn't make the walk so pleasent anymore as you want to see the swans and the water. I dont know why they've done this, perhaps for saftey reasons but i hope they change it back to normal soon Grass areas. Play area. Playground: Next to leisure centre Picnic area: Plenty of areas
