Story

Founded in 1994, Hamish Johnston Fine Cheeses is an independent shop on the all famous Northcote Road in Battersea. Stockist of a wide selection of fine cheeses, charcuterie and condiments, the shop has been likened to some of the finest delicatessens in the city.

As as wholesaler in East Anglia based in Framlingham, Suffolk, the business now has in excess of 300 customers. Our London shop also supports the smaller wholesale business in London, supporting customers in the South East and South West of London.

Mission

To supply some of the finest quality cheeses, all presented and served with confidence and as high a level of customer service possible.

This is probably the best cheese shop I have ever visited. The service is very helpful and friendly and the cheese selection is simply enormous. I love cheese and there freshly home made truffle brie is best I have ever tasted. If you are a cheese lover then this is the place to go. Added today another great British cheese called Beauvale. If you like a smooth creamy blue cheese then this is the perfect choice.

I love this fantastic Cheesemonger's Always have a great selection especially French and British cheeses. I run South London Wine School and we always use Hamish Johnston for our cheese and wine/beer pairing sessions as well as teaching Academy of Cheese courses. By far the best cheese shop I've ever known. Wonderful selection and the staff are always informed and so helpful. I love coming here.
Such a great selection of cheeses - so many varieties I had never heard of before and the staff are so knowledgeable. We purchased 2 types of cheese and both are excellent. Yes it's a bit more expensive than buying from a supermarket but its worth it.
