Lovely park and the only green space in town. Park is attracting all age people. Good for wheel chair users, mobility scooters, prams. Toilet facilities available. The cafe is a great place to relax have a bite to eat and watch the world go by. River view very cool flowing next to park.
My favourite park! Somehow you can see Matlock houses almost amphitheatrically surrounding the park. Alongside Derwent river, it has a boat- lake, a miniature train, a playground, a coffee/ ice cream/ snack place and several courts for sports.. I love the place
Lovely park to see especially when the flowers are in full bloom . Lots of events take place for example the Victorian Christmas market .There's a cafe on the park and a great playground for the kids or you can have a nice peaceful walk by the River Derwent..There are loads spots to sit down. It does get busy in summer...
It's autumn. Things are closing down benches put away for the winter. Lots do here during sumer months for kids.nHold markets and Christmas market next. Happy place in a busy place.nBut don't forget your 20ps to have pee,snIf you're a mobile phone credit card. Toilets have not caught up yet. they need real cash. I had to plead as I didn't carry cash. Most toilets you have to pay now in public.
Lovely park set next to the River Derwent. Been coming here for over 50 years. Still got the train and boat rides! Nowadays for me this is a stop off point for food whilst on a circular walk via Matlock Bath, taking in High Tor and the Height of Abraham. There is also a small paddling pool, ideal for the toddlers in high summer.
