The sales staff are curteous and helpful, the prices in the last 3 weeks have sky rocketed however. 5L of basic oil was £26.99 just 3 weeks ago, today it was £39.0019/6/23!! They also close at 6pm weekdays now so for a person working the usual 9-5 making it there is much harder. Corporate profits isn't really something that customer service can help with but future sales figures will help them see clearer.
Galashiels Halfords today. 22/4/23. Quick service at the counter and fitted some wheel trims on my sons "new" second hand Fiesta which was pretty clean all bar the old wheel covers. Fitting charge was £5. Best £5 I have spent this year. Quick, simple and easy and a very good price. 1 happy customer
Fantastic service. Came in today to get a new battery for my Toyota C-HR Hybrid and all three staff members who helped me, and fitted the new battery, could not have been more helpful and pleasant to deal with. Five stars. Many thanks.
We purchased a child car seat from Halfords in Gala. Customer service was excellent. The assistant gave clear and helpful advice on which purchase to make which suited our car, then fitted it, and thoroughly explained the crucial safety features so we can use it properly. Very very helpful, patient and knowledgeable.
Purchased a car battery and fitting on line one evening. I was contacted shortly after 8 a.m. next morning advising that the battery was available for collection. I arrived at Galashiels store at about 10.45. I was promptly served and left about 15 minutes later with new battery installed to my complete satisfaction. Staff were conscientious and friendly. Faultless. Thank you.
I wrote a review two weeks ago that Shane served me in Galashiels;" his first rate service and utterly helpful and expert attention to detail was absolutely superb". Yes the salemanship was good and the bike which I bought was promised for collection and complete set up with accessories fitted within a week however this simply didn't happen - it took a full two weeks. A big organisation like Halfords had the bike in the warehouse but took two weeks to get the bike to the local store and as a result I was not able to take the bike away on a holiday break and had to hire a bike. Plenty of organisations can ship next day delivery from central warehouse and will do this to satisfy a customer - Halfords just can't be trusted in my experience. Not only that, at point of taking my money Shane promised me a complimentary drink bottle and holder. When I called to collect the bike there was an obvious scratch on the luggage holder and the set up was not finished plus there was no bottle and holder fitted nevertheless a young assistant said I could take it away as it stood. I declined and lodged a complaint via customer services about the late delivery and the scratch and the missing complimentary. The next day I called to collect the bike and the manager Mike served me - he was business like and matter of fact- he had changed the scratched luggage holder however when I mentioned the complimentary bottle and holder he said it wasn't noted on the receipt on the computer and I had to pay for the bottle and holder. I think the Halford's organisation as experienced is 'hit or a miss' and the attitude presents as 'take it or leave' it. I'd be very interested to see the response to this review. Well the prices are good and you can see the product in addition as they are local you can deal with them - so come on Halfords Galashiels get you act together. Shane you didn't get me my bike as promised on time and you didn't record and fulfil the complimentary - Shame on Shane!
I Was Able To Get Exactly What I Needed. The Assistant Was Extremely Helpful, The Part Needed Modified Slightly, Not A Problem Foe Me. Job Completed In Next To No Time.
The service was excellent. The item I needed was in store and quickly ready for collection. My one slightly critical comment is that "garage" is misspelt on your website gargage. This does not reflect well on a professional company.
With my daughter who carried my items to the till for me while i got my wallet out to pay for items. She is 18. 19 in December when we went to the desk to pay was challenged by the assistant Kenny asking for id because she doesn't look 25? The paint tin said 16 plus. Then the assistant refused to sell us the paint stating he wasn't going to break the law for anyone. I then joined the Q again and bought the paint while my daughter sat on her car. Strange practice in my eyes but will just use a different Halfords from now on.
I went in to the store to buy some spray paint and the man who served me knew a great deal about how to do it. He was polite and explained very well. Excellent service. Far better than B&Q for spray paint which I hadn't known about.
