Recently went to have an MoT done here and would not return! It took 20 minutes before I was seen to at the front desk as there was such a long queue and I was then told it would take an hour to an hour and a half. I waited 2 hours and 10 minutes in total which was very inconvenient for me as I had to get to work. No-one apologized to me for the wait the whole time so I was not very impressed.

Booked in for an appointment to have my company's vehicles wing mirror unit replaced following an RTC. Phoned the day before to confirm the vehicle was booked in. Didn't have any record of the vehicle for 15 minutes. Said that they didn't have the part for the vehicle. I said that the part hadn't been ordered by them and should have been delivered that day. They didn't have any record on the system of any order being made. Offered to make one but I said no as i could not authorize it. The person was extremely When I dropped my vehicle off that evening they told me they had ordered one and it would arrive tomorrow. I asked them why when I said that I could not authorise the payment. It then was confirmed that a part had been ordered already and would be delivered the day of the of he repair. The person I spoke to was extremely rude, constantly speaking over what I was explaining and not listening to what I was actually telling him. When it came to pick up the vehicle, the mechanic told me that there was nothing wrong with the unit and that he had only replaced the cracked mirror. Now I can accept initiative here but not when you have been instructed to replace the entire unit, especially when it had already been paid for. When I stated that the unit had been in pieces and had been glued back together and would not have passed an MOT he said that no one had told him and that he was an MOT mechanic and would pass it. I asked him what would happen if the mirror unit fell off whilst driving due to the damage and he didn't care, basically saying that nothing was guaranteed on the work completed. I then informed my fleet services who ordered them to complete the work they were being paid for. I was informed that the repairs wouldn't be ready for another day. An hour later I received a phone call saying the repairs were completed; amazing how quickly they can work. When I picked up the vehicle the mechanic was confrontational and verbally aggressive. I will not being using this service again. They are rude, unknowable (especially being mechanics) and only out to take your money for no work.

I can’t believe I’ve only just found Halfords in Hemel’s industrial estate. I’ve worked in Maylands Avenue most of my adult life and walked past the building without noticing it. Now I’ve found it I don’t think I’ll be going anywhere else for car repairs any time soon. The staff can’t do enough for you and get the job done really quickly. My car needed a part which I’ve been struggling to find from other suppliers yet they managed to get in the very next day. Fitting is quick and everything is explained perfectly as to what needs to be done. I was really impressed with the service I received. In today’s world when faceless corporations seem to want your money without even bothering to smile when they take it, I can happily say that the staff of this Halfords branch have been well-schooled in making the customers feel welcomed and valued when they give them their business.

Had an MOT booked online days ago today when I got to the centre they tell me they couldn't do the mot becauaw they had no tester working. Refused to book me for the next day because they were full, when i asked for my money back the said they couldnt issue me a refund had to call a customer service line. It was the last day on my MOT had run and find another centre. Third world kind of thing. Terrible service! Halfords never again.

A great experience, staff very good ,no talking down to me. I will go back again, I am currently awaiting a quote for a repair on an electric window. Well done.
