An absolute Scam. I took my MINI to the Breydon Centre location for an urgent MOT. They correctly failed the car due to a damaged tire, but also noted and told me that the brakes were worn and should acutely be changed, that I would have a few hundred miles left at most, and that another tire was worn close to legal limit with uneven wear. I took my car to the MINI dealership the following week, and was surprised that my brakes were only 50% and 33% worn front and back that is many thousands of miles and that the reported other tire was only 50% worn and absolutely fine. I am absolutely disgusted by an obvious scam to lure you into replacing brakes and tires that are absolutely fine. Do yourself a favour and stay away from the Breydon Centre location, and maybe this company in its entirety !!!!
Only got 1 star because zero isn't an option . WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE EVER COME ACROSS . Arrived early for my booked slot. Was told running a little late but not to worry . Left it with them and went to shops . Came back over an hour later to see car hadn't even moved . Asked what was going on . Was told would be another 45 mins . I said that's not running a little late . Guy behind desk said it was and seemed to want to have an argument about it . I've never had any staff argue with me before . No sorry sir, nothing , in as many words tough, and get on with it. As I'd already wasted an hour and half I just wanted it done . Then guy came in and said couldn't do it due to problems with my car . And did I want to book it in for other works ..YEAH RIGHT , SAID DONT BOTHER . It seems a recurring theme with the reviews. And looking through the reviews . You send a message . BUT NOTHING CHANGES . You seem to let it all carry on over course of time . AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Halfords Autocentre Peterborough. Great experience, first time here yesterday to change 4 tires on my Passat.This garage has amazing customer service and very helpful staff. I highly recommend this workshop to anyone as he is very knowledgeable.
Just appalling attitude and service received from this Halfords garage. Booked an intermittent service and an MOT 2 weeks in advance. On the day of arrival 9am no engine oil has been ordered but assured it will be delivered within half an hour. I’m told that the job should take around 2-3 hours. 5 hours later not received any call or update on progress. I’m calling to enquire and I’m told that MOT has been done, they just waiting for an engine oil note no apology for the delay. That’s weird but I’m fine with that and I told I’m going to collect the car in the morning. Next morning an hour after opening I’m calling to ask if the car is ready for collection. Weirdly they were still waiting for an engine oil??! I was getting annoyed and asked to speak to a manager. I said that I was not informed that there will be such a long delay in their deliveries to what the manager said that they already apologised to me for the delay earlier which they didn’t do, they didn’t even bother to call me in the first place. Terrible communication. A day after the oil change I noticed an oil leak. Did not bother to go back to Halfords as got really bad attitude from the staff. Went to an independent mechanic and was told that the oil has been massively spilled over the engine and on top of that the oil drainage plug was left loose to let more oil drip out. I’m furious now about Halfords service and have suffered extra costs to get the engine cleaned of the oil spillage and the plug tightened.
Not worth to visit, unless You just wanna waste time and money. I wanted wheel alignment, booked the appointment and went there. First they told me that my tyres are getting close to legal limit, so would be good to change then before alignment, to set alignment on new tyres already. Didnt plan to get tyres yet, but said - ok, if that will make my alignment better. They offer 530 GBP tyres - with I showed them on their website that they have it for 470. Ok, they matched price. Appointment on next day. The next day... I showed up at appointment time and after 2 and half hours of waiting they did tyre change only and said that they cannot do alignment - cause they dont have machine for that available. In the end I end up charged for new tyres that I didnt really wanted and that are weating excesively now, cause I didnt get my wheel alignment I comed for in first place. Stay away from them...
After my vehicle had been sent away by all the Halfords Peterborough centres because they said they were unable to do it because of the weight of the van, this one accepted the car for a major service. On arrival they said that no one had informed them and that they could not because it was too heavy, to which we agreed with the mechanic that he would then do a service without lifting the vehicle as we understood their reason despite the disappointment of their lack of seriousness. Half an hour after closing that day, after having been the first to arrive in the morning, they call us to pick up the van and tell us that they had not looked at anything because it was too heavy. Something that in theory had already been agreed with them in person that morning, accepting a lower inspection than the one we had already paid. Not satisfied with this, when we called the customer service for the refund of the inspection NOT carried out, they told us that they agreed and that they would get in touch with us. Two weeks have passed since that call and we have not received a refund, message or call back. In addition, they ignore our emails and calls. I definitely do not recommend anyone to go to any Halfords in the city, especially this one, as their workers either have amnesia or lie to your face. And I don't recommend Halfords in general either, as you can see their customer service just ignores us and won't refund the money we paid for an inspection that was never carried out. A complete scam.
Took vehicle for suspension problem , nearly fainted at the quote and wasn't impressed with them touting for addional work . Went to collect vehicle to find it ouy a on test run. When returned and in the car and about to drive off , found windscreen cracked . What pissed me off was they weren't and didn't have the courtesy to tell me it had happened on the test run or at somerime during the day when the car was with them , because it wasnt there when i dropped it off .... would I use them again ? Steer clear of them .
Must be the worst garage I have ever been to booked my slot for 11:30 arrived early for a bulb replacement I had ordered the wrong bulb my mistake the manager did the work 10 minutes bulb was out rang parts store for replacement sat patiently 1 hour passed asked what the holdup was told part not even put on the van other member of staff was either sitting down or smoking he then sent the receptionist out to collect the part who took nearly 45 minutes to drive to fengate returned took 5 minutes to install. In short I left at 14:20 nearly 2 hours for a bulb change got home to find the air box had just been chucked in not correctly seated correctly and was just loose had to go back Saturday morning to get it correctly fitted no apologies for having to come back disgusting read the reviews before you go.
Absolute joke of a place, arrived 15 minutes early for booked appointment, was told it would be 2-3 hours for the service, 8 hours later and still not finished. Will use main dealership in future it’s the same price but at least you get a courtesy car so you can carry on with your day. Still an upside to the length of time to complete the service is they took so long they couldn’t sell me anything like tyres, brakes or anything because there wasn’t time to fit them.
Very disappointed with the service I received. I booked for my MOT for today at 3pm. The MOT tester is running behind not my fault so instead of honouring my booking the man at the desk says the MOT tester is going home after they’ve done the car before mine. Not very good service and not a good 1st impression. 2 stars because I’m getting a refund but 1 star for customer service I have managed to book another MOT LUCKILY but I will not be returning to the garage and I’ll go elsewhere When I arrived a man was stood outside smoking and approached me and said that the MOT man is running behind and mine probably won’t get done..not a lovely welcoming.
