Great pub in Rathgar. I prefer this to the 108 as I’m not a fan of pale ales. There are aspects that remind me of the Long Hall in town. The barman, Keith, was sound. Went in for a casual pint but ended up having 5 as he’s great craic. Only thing I would like to see is the pint prices coming down, as we’re not in town. If the Guinness under €6, this would be a new local.
Great pub! The barman Keith was very accommodating, friendly and down to earth. Very cozy and Guinness was spot on. However the a pint of Guinness should be under 6 euro. I've had pints for 5 euro in the city. I think it's robbery for Guinness to above 6 euro end of. If it wasn't for Keith I wouldn't have stayed any longer. The extra euro or so always makes a difference on a pint. Lower the pints on larger and Guinness this easily be 5 stars!
Not as good as it once was.... it used to have one of the best beer gardens to watch matches in, great atmosphere etc but it has become soulless..... cant recommend..... Also, if you smoke I don't stay away - it has the most depressing smoking area I've ever seen
A Rathgar favourite. Great pints, small and cozy local. No fuss, nothing fancy, but a good pub. Happy to see this place reopen.
Before COVID, the Bottlers was probably *the* best pub in Dublin; now, under new management, it can barely compete as an ordinary suburban pub. Once boasting the best drinks selection for miles around including city-center pubs, especially in craft beers, the menu is now very restricted. There are no drinks here that you couldn't get in another pub within 10 minutes' walk. The once informal and friendly atmosphere is gone as the clientele moved away, and the staff changed into uniforms. It's *fine* if you're not interested in a drinking experience and just want to sit an ordinary pub. But life's too short, so instead check out Slatterys in Rathmines or if you want craft beer the 108.
Nice neighborhoud place, good service, fair prices. Can do with more variety of drinks e.g. craft beers.
The layout of the pub isn't great. The staff are decent, but the clientele that frequent the pub are horrible. It makes for an unpleasant evening. Do yourself a favour and avoid.
€5.90 for a pint of Guinness is ok, but €10 for a small glass of "kapuka" white wine is extortionate! The atmosphere is ok, but its a small pub, so cant cope with a crowd. The bar staff were ok, but overall, its not a good advertisement for a pub
Great pints. Opening hours at the weekend should be earlier. 5pm at the weekend or bank holiday is annoying.
Nice bar, nice drinks and staff were brill
