Story

Haberdashers' Aske's Hatcham College is a secondary school with academy status located in New Cross. The school was formerly a Grammar school, then a comprehensive City Technology College and now an Academy operating between two sites near New Cross Gate in South-East London. In 2005 the Federation of Haberdashers’ Aske’s Hatcham College and Haberdashers’ Aske’s Knights Academy (formerly the failing Malory School, Downham) was formed by the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers to create the Haberdashers' Aske's Academies Federation in order to increase the availability of an Askes’ education to more students and make a wider use of the strengths that Aske’s has to offer. Haberdashers' Aske's Hatcham College now has academy status specialising in music.

the only good thing is the cookies, miss george, mr kemp, miss bowens and miss travers. also there is no wifi ?!?! and the toilets are sooooo gross. lowkey not a good school and i would not send my kids here.
My child used to go to this school he would complain about the boys toilets and would use words like disgusting he would also complain of the uniform and how uncomfortable it is to walk around in it he was also complaining about how everywhere he went there was something of feminism and homophobia which he stated was too much and felt like it was forced he would also complain of the teachers.
Decent school. The teachers are hard working and creative, finding the best in each child. Most of the negative reviews here seem to be critiques of British schools themselves - this one is no better and no worse than that.
My daugher attends this school and it’s atrocious. They preach these lovely values about “anti-racism” and “we’re against homophobia” and continue to neglect the students these values were put in place for. The lack of dealing with these issues causes poor mental health and lack of effort which to make it more important to the school will inevitably affect results. Teachers will blatantly ignore problems and then proceed to blame exterior issues. Teachers are rarely in so students are “taught” by a constant stream of incapable supplies. The senior leadership at this school need to learn the difference between providing support to children who misbehave and enabling their outrageously offensive behaviour. This is not a school I would ever recommend. Especially if you want to your children to be taught by anyone vaguely competent who isn’t just mindlessly standing at the front riding out until retirement. Attending this school would be a mistake.
I've attended this school for almost two years, and i'm yet to experience any major problems. It's undeniable the school has some issues but honestly the majority of them and due to the students lack of respect for staff. During my time here I've only had one problem, behavior management. Some classes result in not learning much due to constant shouting, arguing, disobedience, and lack of respect. Though this fault isn't one the school can fix. The students actively choose to employ a sense of chaos into the day because they are foul and arrogant and can not accept that they are not in charge. Though students are nice enough to each other. The members of staff are actually very nice, friendly and great at teaching. They also genuinely care about the welfare of their students, they do all they can to support those who need it and make sure no one is ever troubled. So, whilst the infrastructure is almost as bad as the students acceptance of authority, you will learn a great amount and be surrounded by people who have your best interest at heart.
The school is ok nothing special. Everyone will experience their own experience. Mostly all the good teachers have left and now a small handful remain that genuinely care anout their job and teaching. This school went downhill ever since the scandal of the man that committed fraud and stole money from the school account. Some teachers are just there for the pay and no real interest in teaching. Lack of management, the principal has no managerial clue whatsoever despite his promotion. When you belong to a certain club it has its benefits and that is clearly the case with him its all about who you know as hes not fit for running a kindergarten let alone an academy. This school is too busy trying to look good and keep its high reputation which has dropped dramatically over the years.
I'm currently in year 11 and I've witnessed everything that goes on in this school. So in year 7 - 9 the bottom site suffers from poor organisation of time tables so students are wasting 30 minutes at the beginning of each period for the first couple weeks of the year, also teachers are often sick and arrange cover teachers to teach however they can't control the class room and let students run rampant and fight, as well as the students in lower sets for lessons are often very neglected and aren't given help to improve there grades. When you move to top site things improve however there is still a problem with teachers being absent resulting in supply teachers that have no idea what they're doing as well as the support the lower sets don't get. The only reason this school gets good grades is because they remove people from the subjects they pick to do extra maths and english even if they're doing well in one the choice subjects.
This school is horrible. Not only do students have to go up and down a hill all days, the staff don't care that your child goes out or into the school premises which is a huge danger because they don't question anyone who comes into and out of the school. The food is appalling and the plates are dirty with small strands of hair. The school is crumbling down and the school is unorganised
This school is EXCELLENT, in every sense of the word. The children's attitude to learning and multiculturalism in impeccable, as well as utterly insurmountable. The teaching as well is of a wonderful standard. Trust me, your children will be happy here. Just look at the picture.
I have put 4 stars because this school is a great school and unfortunately i haven't gone to it yet but i will in September but i did go to their open day and it sure is the best school you can find and nearly one of the great schools in Lewisham, it has its mishaps but it still strives as a great school and i'm so excited to go! Lol hoped that helped...
