I'm not a lover of Indian food but was surprised tonight ordered biryani mixed rice And lamb bits and mushrooms food was amazing, ordered a kebab and chips for my son kebab was a very small portion and dry chips were soggy due to the packaging Definitely recommend I'll be back Kid-friendliness: 10/10
We’ve recently moved to Aberdeen and ordered a takeaway from Gurkha kitchen last night and were most impressed. We ordered the set meal for 4 and enjoyed an excellently prepared meal with just the right amount of spice. The portions were generous including the sides, salads and dips.Food: 5/5
Gurkha Kitchen has in the past been really good. The last twice we've had we've been surprised at the reduced quality of the food. We had a choila starter which used to be made with fresh herbs and spices and served on homemade naan. Last night's was served on a shop bought wholemeal pitta and covered in lettuce which had gone slimy in the heat. The chicken was not good quality and it had none of its usual vibrancy. The mains were watery and didn't have much flavour. At least one of them was a totally different recipe from what we've had before. All in all not a good experience.
Delivery guy was surly, pakora starter was very small, main course was too hot to finish Dhansak - my usual choice in all Indian restaurants.Food: 3/5
Food arrived hot haggis pakora was super soft. The wife and I both agree that the nan is store bought. Chicken burger was just chicken in a bun no butter no salad. Nothing. I will be avoiding this place all together. Shocking
Food was great and delivery took less time than expectedFood: 5/5
Sadly I'm going to have to echo the poor service comments others have made. Do not order via deliveroo from here, they don't make any sort of kebabs any more but still include it on their app. I got a call which was very hard to decipher where the guy said they don't make munchie boxes any more. Fair enough, I asked if they could cancel but they said to do it from the app. Couldn't cancel from the app as they had apparently started making it. I called them and they didn't know how to cancel it, all in all a huge faff. Had to end up waiting an hour and requesting a refund that way as the order never arrived I don't know what they were making. Phone conversations with this place are very difficult, would not advise ordering from here it maybe better in person.
This family owned Nepalese and Indian take-out will not disappoint you. The chef at this family owned take-out hut is very friendly and you can tell from his personality and correspondence from his son that this is a honest and well run place. Tried the Everest Chicken Curry that was recommended and was satisfied with the rich and bold flavor. The portion of the Pilau rice was massive and the Vegetable Pakora was fried to perfection. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves spicy dishes and craving for a Nepalese/Indian kick in their appetite.
Can not fault, speedy delivery, beautiful food, reasonable price. Just so everyone knows that's reading this, if a place is popular and is busy it will take how long it takes but its worth the wait if thats the case. I highly recommend
Dropped in on our walk back from town on the first day of our holiday in Aberdeen. Also my wife's birthday. The man at the counter was cheerful and I walked away with a menu. Later we ordered a delivery which arrived within the time they said. Again, a pleasant guy, short bit of chat and then off. Food was great, especially the black lentils, mutter paneer and aubergine dishes. Would use again. Helped top off a nice day. While not fully vegetarian, they have enough choice and its tasty. We ordered two naans and five dishes: that gave enough for two meals for two
