This used to be one of the best Indian restaurants in Liverpool. Under new management the portions have reduced, the menu has changed, the beers are now different and worse for it and half the restaurant is closed to make space for a new Turkish restaurant instead. The waiters are really friendly and accommodating however. I loved this place but sadly the new owners are ruining it. I won't be heading back.
What can i tell you ,we are all different, the gulshan is a place you must visit first the staff are first class, the bar is well stocked and the food is out of this world. what more can i say, more after my next visit. New years night booked for 2030hrs at table 2045hrs the food was hot given time between each course. the food was well cooked. The staff were very good with so many covers to do. I will be back to enjoy good food
Went to Gulshan yesterday with my partner and some friends for something to eat before a meeting. The food was nice but nothing special and portion size was small! I only ordered a starter which was £5.40 and only got 5 pieces of chicken! I ordered a naan bread as well...that didn't turn up. When we went to pay we had to split the bill between us all. We told them the naan didn't turn up so they took that off the bill. My total was £13.70, originally the waiter tried to charge me £18 but my partner was like hey that's not right! We where busy to get to the meeting so we didn't check my bill until we got home. I checked their menu online, I found out that for my starter, 2 drinks of coke and 2 poppadoms should have been £10.80, so they over charged us! Really not happy, will not be returning!
I have been going there since it was one small room, probably 25 years ago and it was easily the best Indian in Liverpool but unfortunately it has gone downhill in the last couple of years.. the food isn't as good and the decor has become scruffy. It's way overpriced and I don't bother anymore.
Had the unfortunate experience of going to the Gulshan last Sunday evening, the price is far far to expensive for the slops you receive, I cannot believe there is some good feed back on this place, the so called curry tasted like a tin of tomatoes with extra puree in, terrible. My local curry house is Akbar's, once you have dined there you will find out what a curry should taste like.
First visit to the Gulshan was not a great first impression. The staff were rude and unhelpful and the restaurant is very cramped felt as though I was sitting with the party next to us. Very loud could not hear myself think let alone talk to my boyfriend. The food was ok. But not worth the money we paid for it. Overall i would not even recommend this restaurant to a dog.
I sent for a delivery/ takeaway And i found it to be very nice And large portions.i waited40mins But it was pipeing hot on arrival. I have been eating here on and off For 30 years and i wish i was Younger to finish off.but i will Save for my sunday brunch Tomorow bye the way i orderd Chicken tika biryani and chicken Capsilla.. Very nice indeed.
Terrible experience,i went to the restaurant based on earlier reviews turns out it's not the same after reopening , worst Indian food I had in the UK, food had no taste and only hot spice and staff was rude and inexperienced. Avoid at all counts.
Terrible, food was some of the worst I have had. Service poor. Decor poor. Filthy tables. Don't waste your time. As mentioned by previous reviewers this place has gone downhill.
Had to send the meal back, my friends was terrible as well,Table ,menu had food stains on pages hole set up was well worn scruffy ,menu was very confusing ,drinks where small and prices where high no where as good as other Indian restaurants I Have uses, Master cheif Liverpool being highly recommended.
