Great staff and beers/bourbon, lovely cosy dive bar feel. The bottle shop is excellent as well. Oh and the chicken thigh burger is really good.
One of the best places in Liverpool for craft beer! the 23 club was one of the pioneers in Liverpool that began serving Craft Keg Beers way back when the basement of the Clove Hitch upstairs was opened up to create this great beer hideaway. Alongside the Large range of Keg beers there is a selection of cask beers and an extensive bottle range. All of which is also available upstairs in the Clove Hitch as well. Spirits are also available. The bar has often featured many exclusive beer launches and has hosted several meet the brewer events. So follow them on social media to keep up to date. Not sure what to get? The staff are big beer lovers themselves so they have plenty of knowledge to share with the confused customer. If you love good beer this is one of the many good places in Liverpool to get it. Regardless of how some other reviewers babble on about craft beer. Bottled beers are available to drink in or take away. You can also get some pretty epic burgers if your feeling hungry all cooked up in the same excellent kitchen as the clove hitch upstairs.

Little Cellar bar with a big variety of drinks and ales. The drinks can be a bit expensive, especially being served as 1/3 & 2/3 measures, they always let you sample the ale before you decide and some of them are so strong it is like having 2 pints in 1. They also clearly list the prices and names of all the drinks on a board behind the bar so you don't have to guess which is great! The staff are brilliant, I've never gone in here and not chatted away about a million and one things, always come away smiling, having met great people and had a memorable evening. The atmosphere is really relaxed and everyone is just really lovely.
OK place to have a beer. They don`t mind if you just want a drink. I didn`t try the food.
We came here two years ago and have returned again to find it just as good as we remembered. The best selection of craft beers I know of in Liverpool and a very comfortable environment. Highly recommend!
This really is one of my absolute favourite bars in Liverpool. Many bars in the Georgian Quarter are great but this one stands out. It has a great selection of beers, especially bottles, and gin cocktails, and downstairs has loads of whiskey / whisky, so most tastes are catered for here. The bar is cosy and reflects the old build it is in. It has a great walled garden out back which alone makes the place worth a visit. Great drinks, great setting, cosy, friendly, everything you want ! Visit as soon as you can...

It's been a while since I visited here but I felt the need to contribute having seen the lack of reviews here compared to other places on hope street. A warm welcome and unpretentious surroundings leave you instantly at ease as you peruse the tantalising menu. A wide range of local ales ate available which was a big plus. The food was excellent and very fairly priced and there was good knowledge around gluten free requirements.
It has a small menu but they are very good at what they do. It is handy for the Everyman and the Philharmonic as well as the bars in Hanover Street. They do a mean cosmopolitan and have a good craft beer selection.
