A very nice well presented hotel. The rooms are a little dated but it adds to the character. For me the best part of my stay was the evening meal. It was tasty and filling. Unfortunately I found the bed and pillows too hard so all in all not a great night's sleep. Sorry to say I wouldn't bust a gut to stay again!

Grubby and run down. Food was well below par with pink bloody chicken needed to be sent back. No compensation... not even a free soda water to drink while waiting. Frozen chips for 3 quid were diabolical. Supposed to be a celebratory family meal and we ended up eating seperately. Last time we'll go there.

Very quiet comfortable hotel set back off a quiet country lane with easy access to Birmingham, M42 and M6. I have been staying here for around 8 years and tryed other hotels in the area but always end up coming back to the Grimston. The staff and facilities are fantastic, staff are so friendly and welcoming two in particular Lynda and Symone.

We stayed for two nights. We had a double ensuite room. All areas used/visited were clean and comfortable. Hotel is a little dated but in good order. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. We had forgotten to print part of an entrance ticket for the exhibition we were attending and staff assisted without any fuss or problems at all. Would happily stay again although I do have one concern regarding getting out of the shower/bath. I slipped twice while trying to step out of the bath after a shower. A suitable grab rail/handle would be a good health and safety feature. We ate at the hotel restaurant both nights and had breakfast the next mornings food was good on all occasions. We were very pleased with the matress as it was comfortable and we did not roll to the middle which was a great relief. So often this is an issue at hotels. We would happily stay again.

My wife and I came here for a wedding last month, stayed several nights, and was thoroughly impressed. The food was routinely excellent. In particular, I highly recommend the bacon wrapped mushrooms smothered in an aged cheddar. Add a cold beer to that for an excellent pairing. But, as good as the food is, the best part of the Grimstock is the staff. They were always friendly, accommodating, efficient and made you feel at home. Similarly, i was struck by how casually hospitable the owner and his wife were. Well worth it.
