Good local fitness centre, sure could do with some improvements, but let's support it first! It's been great for my health, daughters' swimming lessons are fab! She's getting on really well.
Good community leisure centre, good for a range of people. Decent variety of classes from Les mills, spin, aqua, yoga. Like the boxes used in the sports hall for social distancing, they’re great for space during classes. Hall, climbing wall and parts of the gym all feel new and recently refurbed which is nice. Gym can get super busy and is quite cramped but the same at every gym. Pool is okay, could do with a freshen up as parts look a bit old. My average rating is the changing rooms, they’re really not good, feel old. Dry changing feels old and dirty, but the wet side is even worse. Not enough cubicles, waiting 5/10 mins whilst wet isn’t great, some don’t have locks, most don’t have light, all feel gross. Lockers are okay but many have broken wristbands. Only 3 showers which isn’t enough after a 40 person class. The last few weeks, 2 of the showers have been broken so really not good. I think the next refurb not an easy job I know needs to be concentrated here, it’s not nice leaving the gym/pool feeling dirty after a shower. Also, staff are nice enough but I get the impression they need a little more training/info as quite often I’ll have to speak to 3/4 people before finding someone with the answer. Not their fault at all, just comes across a bit disjointed as a new starter.
The changing rooms smell like urine. My child and I have been going here for swimming lessons for over a year, and he can't even use his hands while swimming. My child does not want to go because the teacher is grumpy and sometimes shouts.
Swimming with my baby boy. I have never felt more comfortable in a place to go swimming and the water is great, lifeguards, reception and generally all staff are always lovely. I'm happy to call this place my first choice in the area even if I drive a while to get there.
Main facilities are decent but the male changing rooms are just dirty. There’s marks and fluids all up the walls and doors of the changing rooms that rarely if ever get cleaned. The locks on the doors are mostly broken or not present and the lights are often broken.
Visit here frequently for swimming training with my daughter. Free short term parking and being close to Sainsbury's make this a great leisure centre to use.
Pool was nice and warm the showers in the changing room were poor though barely had any pressure and were cold
Old fashioned and needs a refurb. Changing rooms smell of wee! Yuk!
Not too bad the price is good it has a good gym and pool with suna shower could do with an upgrade over all good staff good facilities
Pool is great and staff are friendly, and these are the only positives I could find. But: - the car park is quite small and it can get busy, so you can find yourself not having where to park or parking in the council spaces if it's late evening or weekend; - there are only 3 showers in the women's changing area and the surface around them up to the pool is incredibly slippery; - changing rooms are freezing and not well lit; - not all toilets in the pool area work and those working don't have a lock on the door. Also there's a strong smell of urine as soon as you walk in the changing area; - vending machines quite often swallow your coins without giving anything back.
