Friendly service. Lovely brownies. Also choice of 3 gluten free cakes when we visited. Good cakes!
We first visited a few months ago when house-hunting, and it's now become our Go-To breakfast and lunch stop... yesterday I tried the bubble and squeak will bacon and poached egg. Yes YES YES! absolutely top tuck and extremely good value for money. Staff are absolutely charming, friendly and helpful... the coffee is excellent... Top marks!
We've made a beeline for this cafe twice now on journeys from Hampshire to Cornwall as we'd seen good reviews on Google. The food has been great both times, I had poached eggs and avocado on toast last time.... gorgeous bread, perfectly cooked eggs the avocado was the ideal ripeness... Never had the avocado on toast thing before...I get it now, delicious! My kids and husband were also very happy with their food pancakes with bacon and Syrup. We all shared the big yellow teapot! Staff are welcoming and it's clear that they have a loyal clientele. Clean and cool inside and dogs made very welcome. Will definitely stop there again!
Such a friendly welcome. Warm, comfortable atmosphere coupled with great food. Well worth the short walk up the hill. The scones were delicious too. Thank you, we will return soon.
To be completely honest, I was a Green Yard Virgin. The time had come to rectify that and pop my green yard cherry. Went with a friend and neither of us were sure exactly what to expect. Would it be a run of the mill town cafe? Would it be lots of oldies sitting round eating cake and having a milky cuppa? No it absolutely wasn't. We were really impressed. The food was top notch and yummy and the banter alongside it was a perfect addition for the likes of us! The cafe quickly filled up with each customer getting their own tailor made version of banter from the owner and each plate of food that came out looked just as good as ours. There was only one fault....and that was ours for not having been here before. We will be back without a doubt and thank you for a perfect brekkie experience.
Well got round to having Thursday roast at this lovely cafe. We had the turkey roast and it was delicious all lean meat, crisp roast potatoes and plenty of veg and trimmings. Can't fault it. Also the chocolate orange cake was out of this world like a huge jaffa cake. Many thanks to Mike and all the team.
What a little gem!! This place ticks all my personal boxes, and then some. Courteous, friendly, helpful staff, lovely wholesome food cooked to order, generous portions, reasonably priced. Can it get any better? Yes. The Green Yard is beautiful inside. Immaculate is the word. Clearly a lot of thought and effort has gone into making The Green Yard a class-act. In these difficult times it deserves to flourish and prosper. Please check it out. You won't be disaapointed.
My wife and I had a lovely breakfast and took away 2 slices of homemade cake. I don't eat cake usually but my wife does. Wow, these were the best cakes either of us have ever tasted. This guy can cook!
Stopped at Bridport on our drive to Cornwall. Checked 3 other dining options which were very ordinary and then we found The Green Yard. Fantastic! Amazing friendly service and fantastic food and coffee. Loved this place. Would love to be able to come back here regularly, it’s just perfect! Thank you for a fabulous experience. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options!
We had coffee along with the best coffee cake we’ve had in a very long time. This is a lovely, dog-friendly cafe with warm and welcoming service. Highly recommended.
