Lovely place to visit. Friendly staff, welcoming, interesting photos etc on the walls, didn't ask about them but am assuming the history of the pub and its surroundings The area that surrounds the place is gorgeous, we met a couple of ponies and a lovely piggy too just up the road. Will definitely be going again and maybe sample the food menu next time too.
We stayed here overnight in the Bell tents in the rear paddock. Staff were lovely and food was great. There was a live band on while we were there which was an added bonus. The bell tents are great. Plenty of room and equipped with a double bed, bedding and tables and chairs. Outside there were picnic tables and the opportunity to have a fire pit. Sharing a field with sheep and donkeys was great fun. Loved this place.
STOP you have found it! You know that country pub with a beautiful location with nice food and drink variety with an outdoor area and animals You were after. Well great news You have found it. Went here for the first time the other day and now will be our go to. Lovely food. Lovely deco. Lovely staff. Can not fault in anyway! Could have sat and ate and drank all day there!

We came here for a large event with about fifty of us and this hidden gem was absolutely amazing! I'm not sure if we had an event menu rather than the usual but all the food was very tasty, well presented and cooked to perfection. We were served quickly and the staff were very friendly and lovely. I didn't manage to get many photos because I was too busy scoffing my face but I also had the baked camembert and my partner had a steak pie which were both beautiful. Would definitely come here again and recommend to anyone. A big thank you to all the staff for taking such great care of us!
Warm and friendly greeting. Taken to our table promptly. Service excellent throughout. Great choice of food and drink. All meals were excellent. The chicken cassoulet was a little salty for my taste but otherwise excellent. Too full for dessert but highly recommend them as we have had them before
Delicious meal here last night on the way home from a beach day, initially told there would be a wait for food but it actually came much quicker than expected and was very good. I had the mushroom burger as I'm a veggie and it was very tasty. Fantastic garden to sit in under shade on such a hot day. Also always appreciate condiments in actual bottles not fiddly little packets! Great selection of sauces too :
We were pleased to find an interesting variety of food from which to choose. The mushroom soup was excellent. No fuss about my having to have gluten free food. There was even a selection of gluten free sweets. Sadly I was so full from the soup and main meal I did not have room to taste the sweets. Altogether a very pleasant lunch for the four of us in an atmosphere of calm and quiet.
Arrived early after a nice long walk in the new forest, luckily our table was available despite being busy with a nice atmosphere. The roast was really nice delivered with a friendly smile. Homely feel pub with lots of nice decorations and the desserts are not to be missed.
Went for lunch on a Friday, extremely good food and lovely staff got talking to them found out they were doing the forest games the next day, so went. What a day out absolutely brilliant and for a good cause to. Definitely going to come back here as there was plenty on the menu that I would like to try. Keep up the great work.
