Very clean place, from the table to the decorative elements, which is always a good start. Just had a chicken kebab at about £15. Generous portions with those delicious Greek style chips. Kebab was very moist - I would personally have preferred a little more char- but that didn't detract from a great plate of food. Happily recommended
One of the best Greek cuisine restaurants in Liverpool. Loved their ambience and service. The dishes taste good. I ate a mixed special kebab and the chicken and lamb served was so great. However the rice was a bit salty. Vegetarian options are limited and I found them a bit expensive for most dishes. They could provide a student discount though, as there are regularly lots of student customers.
It was a nice place. Food was good but nothing special to be fair but portions were quite big for some of you it might be and advantage. There were few vegan options which was nice but nothing from orginal Greek cuisine. We took startersshared and main dishes for 4 and it was too much.
I honestly didn't expect restaurant quality food and prices in a place called "Taverna" on Bold street. The food was absolutely delicious and the place was so busy and buzzing, which is 100% justified. Absolutely delicious everything. Highly recommend.
Not as special as advertised. The food is ok generally not delicious, except one starter - goat cheese and spinach fritters yet service isn’t where it needs to be. In particular the most senior waiter in front of house was missing his standards. It was a much better experience to be cared by two other people who were more junior but kinder and very careful, than from the more senior.
Came here for Mums birthday. There were 3 of us. On a Wednesday its £13.99 for 2 courses all day. Made a reservation which is required as it was busy. The restaurant is very tidy. They tidy the tabless and disinfect them. You can't sit at a table until its done. We got the bread and dips and I gor the garlic mushrooms,. The bread and dips were lovely and fresh. The mushrooms were cooked perfect. For mains we had the chicken supreme, chicken kebab and I paid an extra £2 for chicken and lamb kebab. Included was handmade chips which were lovely. The lamb kebab was really tender. The chicken supreme was nice but the sauce was a bit rich. The portions were quite big but we ate it all. After eating the mains we were all full so didn't have a dessert. When I come again I wouldn't have the bread so I could have a dessert.
Good ambience! Always a birthday celebration whenever we are here- it’s lovely how staff gets cheerful for these celebrations. Fantastic food and staff, I definitely recommend it. The lamb was cooked to perfection and it was pretty big, 2 people could have that for sure. Dolmates were also very food, proper restaurant made food.
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE FROM START TO FINISH. tonight we celebrated our 7 year anniversary together and it was perfect from the service to the food. delicious Mediterranean goodness made us feel right at home. thank you to all of the staff and chefs. it was BEAUTIFUL!!! WE WILL BE BACK
Started off with King Prawns and Calamari - both pretty good although the calamari could have been a little bit less rubbery. Tried chicken skordates, chicken ouzo for mains. I would say the latter was pretty bland and the strong smell of the tomato curry kind of put us off. But the serving size is commendable - could not finish! Overall the bill was around £70 - quite filling and expensive. Note: The staff were pretty nice to us!
