Was really nice fairly large park set in sand. Most children had there shoes and socks off and we're either playing on the equipment or digging in the sand. There is no frills, reasonable priced cafe that sells anything from ice creams to meals. Toilets are available. There's also a large grassy area and seems to be many "perches" for adults to sit (we sat on a wall). Just the other side of the park is the river Thames, where you can watch the busy river traffic and see the docks.

Excellent cafe. Friendly people, home made food, very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend it. They lots going on on different days. Go on their website to see what's going on when.. Light boat cafe.

It a beach, near the river but secured so that you children cannot run out. It is what it is, a beach in Grays! Good play area for kids. Café on site.

Grays beach riverside park is a 5 min walk from the town and station. Medium sized park with a big sandy playground. Not tried the cafe which advertises hot food, drink and ice cream. Popular with dog walkers. The park itself is just a grassy area with a single path round it and some wooded scrub area around the outside where some people have had fires or beers. Generally quiet. Unfortunately there is rubbish around, the river is not very scenic here and apart from the playground it's not very inspiring. Walked through one morning and there was a homeless person tenting in the undergrowth.
