Sadly gone downhill from the days we'd go for dinner on Tuesday market day. It used to be a wait for a table and well worth that wait. A decent brew and a toasted teacake were made to perfection and a good old fashioned dinner, hotpot or chips and gravy or suchlike were a shopping day treat...never try to recapture your youth by visiting nowadays is my review! The meals we had were pretty bland, not very big portions and adding insult to injury I suspect that the chips were frozen!!! Not good enough. I will give full marks to the soup of the day, vegetable, it looked an ominous green sludge but tasted fantastic. The rest of our choices let us down however so I won't be going back. And, on the subject of recapturing ones youth, don't attempt to use the toilet! There's no room if you're taking your middle aged spreador baby bump come to that and I feared that my visit would end with me being crowbarred free by our fire brigade. Lol.
Ordered jacket potato with chilli and salad, sausage barn with cheese which should of come with chips and salad, cheese sandwich which should of also come with chips and charged £13 the order was completely wrong there was no cheese sandwich and when questioned we was given half a sandwich and no chips for either . So we essentially paid 3.40 for one piece of bread and some cheese. The jacket also came with no salad.
Been here a few times nice food, but need to put a cut off point when last order is in place
