Graeme John Solicitors is the oldest law firm in the Cynon Valley. We provide specialist help with a wide range of legal services across South Wales.

Story

Founded in 1871, Graeme John Limited Solicitors has its main branch in Aberdare and is the oldest practice within the Cynon Valley.

We currently occupy 1 Victoria square, Aberdare which is one of the oldest buildings in Aberdare Town Centre. We also have offices in Tonypandy, Mountain Ash and Ystradgynlais.

We acquired the practices of Berwyn Davies (Aberdare) and Michael Henderson & Co (Tonypandy) in 2000 and 2001 as part of our expansion programme. This continued with a merger with A F Brooks & Co (Aberdare) in 2007 and the opening of a new branch office in Mountain ash in 2015.

In 2008 the Tonypandy Branch received two letters of commendation for client excellence; one from the Law Society and the other from the prestigious periodical Legal Week which recognised that the branch went beyond that which would normally be required to assist clients.

The Firm has strong local business, commercial and sporting connections and we are Solicitors to many local Rugby and Athletic Clubs.

We pride ourselves in servicing our existing large client base and the fact that our clients return to us time and time again proves that we are accomplishing our aims and objectives.

In order to provide our clients with a one stop property service we recently acquired an Estate Agency Practice in Aberdare - Durbins Legal Estates.

In January 2013 Graeme John were awarded the highly prestigious Lexcel accreditation.

This award of excellence by the Law Society recognises outstanding input on our part in relation to the provision of legal services to clients.

In April 2013 Graeme John received recognition from the Law Society for legal expertise in buying and selling property and were awarded the CQS (Conveyancing Quality Scheme) accreditation. (Certificate available here)
