Went here for dim sum, nice little cosy restaurant, I like the feel and the stylish furniture, very friendly and polite staff & boss. Although price is slightly higher than other dim sum places but you get what you paid for! Boss ensures the quality of the food at a very high standard I would definitely go again. P.s. They have karaoke available on the 2nd floor

A wonderful birthday dinner. Food, service and ambiance exceptional. Mae and her colleague made it memorable providing complimentary fresh fruit platter and birthday cake with candle for the birthday girl - highly recommended.

Really bad food, we ordered the vegan duck as usual, but this time it was something totally different the salad was horrible as you can see the the picture. when we call them back for an explanation they took long time tried to convinced us that the food is ok and they change the supplier etc that is way the food is deferent. I still got your food in my kitchen. due to a first day of the year, I am not sure if the restaurant is open for day I want to take it back to your restaurant and show you and get refund my money, this wasnt I order for. even my dog won't eat that food, can you explain to us why you did not refund our money?
This is the Dim Sum Platter and it costs £14.00- what a rip off!
Terrible 3rd time ordered snd I’m disgusted I didn’t get king prawn I got sweet sour liquid and rice and burnt ribs! To which I called and they said basically not there problem I have to pay more Never again I will be going back to give them there food on the reception desk
Every place you go to has differences. Some you notice immediately, others may take a little longer to share. Gonbay is a place where you immediately see the difference. The entire place screams luxury and great food. The smells just coming from the kitchen were fantastic. I tend to rate places I eat based on a staple. Example: If a pizza place can't make a good garlic bread, then they aren't going to do much better with the more expensive stuff. For a Chinese, the bar is set by prawn crackers. These were exquisite - and it's not often I say that about prawn crackers. Coming with the prawn crackers, a hot towel to ensure you are refreshed before eating. The starters and main courses that we ordered we on par with what I expected after tasting the prawn crackers. I highly recommend chicken cakes think fish cakes but with chicken. Overall, we will definitely be back, and hope to become regulars.
Lovely food and excellent service by the great staff here BUT … absolutely appalling that the ‘10% surcharge’ on the bill when you pay by credit card does NOT go to the staff - apparently the staff aren’t allowed to accept tips … so why does the boss accept 10% extra on the bill?
