Staff are great as always but as one chippy said “Fish and chips isn’t a cheap meal anymore”. So we pay a premium I expect consistently high quality fish and chips. Was a regular but will be back in a few years when premium quality matches premium pricing. Can manager tell me what’s wrong with these photos? No, probably not. Staff aren’t to blame.
Always enjoy good fish and chips from The Golden Hind. The staff are hardworking and friendly. There is a good menu choice inc soup of the day, the potato swizzler, pies, burgers, a selection of cakes and more. You can preorder takeaway. Parking: The shop is actually located in a public carpark. The carpark is fee payable but I have never had to pay when using the takeaway. Kid-friendliness: Extremely kid friendly. Kids menu available. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchairs cannot access the takeaway. Preorders can be made by telephone and when you arrive to collect your order a member of staff will bring your order out to you. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and the tables inside the restaurant are not crammed making it easy for wheelchair users to manoeuvre.
The best fish butty I've ever had! The batter was extra crispy and extra golden. The fish was fresh and juicy, I sat in their little outdoor section and ate. I was getting full, but I really wanted to finish it, and I did! Couldn't recommend any more, 5 stars!
Such a lovely experience. Gorgeous decor and ambience. Wonderful service. Exquisite fish, chips and mushy peas. Couldn’t fit one of their tempting sponge puddings with custard, cream or ice cream in, so I’ll be making sure I’m even hungrier when I go again this week
Had a great fish and chips lunch with my 80 year old mother who is disabled. Staff could not be more helpful moving tables to allow her access and providing the ramp to access the restaurant. Food was really good and it has a nice atmosphere. Totally recommendedFood: 5/5

Just had fish and chips here, 14-04-24. They were excellent. Great quantity, quality and price. Surroundings were lovely and clean with good spacing between tables. Served by a well mannered and very polite young lady. Will definitely be going back.Food: 5/5
Great food. Fish was immaculate and at a decent price!! Staff were very lovely too. Catered for our every need. Great place to relax at a decent price too. Highly recommended. Always service with a smile. Parking: Free parking after 6pm. Reasonably cheap before then.
Can't fault it, for a small restaurant there's plenty of tables and I have seen reserved plaques occasionally so guessing you can book, the girls serving are quick and efficient and the menu is quite varied tho I've only had fish and chips and a sweet Parking: The golden hind is on the edge of a large public car park I think ther may be a few for the chip shop close to the restaurant, but it's only 70p an hour
Came across this place when I was parking up to go to the shops. Lots of parking, polite staff, prices are normal too. I didn't get to see the restaurant as it was nice enough to sit outside, it's by the canal/river too. Fish and chips were tasty too. Its worth visiting, if in the area...
