We stopped for Lunch and had Burger and chips. Tasted amazing, really well cooked , chips were to die for . I really recommend you visit It has a very good Vegetarian and Vegan menu too .. Kayley the Barmaid was fantastic
We’ve always driven past this place and thought: “Wouldn’t it be nice to try this one day?” Today was that day, and what a meal!!! Great price for what you get and stunning food; everything was cooked really well and packed full of flavour! There is great choice on the menu, even for vegans if you are that way inclined and it’s all reasonably priced! The roasts were £12.95 each and vastly better than a typical carvery! Lots of parking, a charming and well decorated pub. They also had an open log fire and a lovely wood burner in the room we were in! It was so warm and welcoming.
We visited New Years Eve to meet up with family. It is a lovely pub very cozy all the staff are warm and welcoming and very helpful. The food was excellent all served at the same time. Thankyou
We drove for 2 hours to come and try the food and introduce our 5 month old puppy to the pub environment! It was well worth it for a walk in beautiful surroundings followed by a tasty vegan Sunday dinner with jam roly poly for pudding! The staff were so welcoming, great place and we’ll be back! Thank you P.s. I’m not a professional food photographer but I a dedicated vegan foodie!
We went today for a meal. We've been here before and have had some lovely meals but today the food was amazingly good. I had the spicy bean burger and my partner had the ostrich burger. The burgers were absolutely delicious, the bean burger was not too spicy but just right. The chips are so good. Then I had the chocolate and salted caramel cheesecake and my partner had the vanilla and honeycomb cheesecake. These were also gorgeous. It is a lovely friendly place and the wide choice of vegan/vegetarian food is rare to find. Also nice to have a choice of meals apart from the usual steaks, fish and chips etc. I would recommend this pub to everyone but a word of warning : make sure you are really hungry before you go or you won't be able to clear your plate and you do not want to be leaving any of the delicious food.
Lively atmosphere, well spaced tables and good choice of food. Queue for the bar slightly long but staff were friendly and helpful. It's clearly popular and was very busy. Superb Sunday lunch and not expensive. Well worth a visit but make sure you book a table.
Fantastic hidden treasure which you could easily drive past. Friendly staff, lots of interesting things to look at decorate rge building. Good size menu with lots of specials, best fish and chips that I had ever had fish just melted in your mouth. Really enjoyable meal. Plenty of parking
Lovely old fashioned pub although not much choice of lagers. Food was excellent and reasonable prices too. Only downside was it was very cold in there. There was an open fire but that only works if you can sit by it
What a lovely pub. Two of us visited and were given a warm welcome. We had a couple of drinks while perusing the menu. The choice of food was great and when it arrived it was simply delicious. I will certainly be returning.
Lunch meeting with colleagues. Easy to find, the pub/inn is of the 16th C so quite quirky with lovely big open fires. Perhaps a bit chilly in the winter if you sit near the window. The staff were welcoming but note you should make your drinks and food order at the bar. The food was great, esp the cheese & mushroom omelette!
