Our evening visit to the Whittle Inn was as good as always when eating out at Brewers Fayre establishments. Was fairly quiet during our stay and no issues of any nature worth commenting on. Lovely food & drinks as always and reasonably priced. The staff were really friendly and helpful and all respect & credit to them! Car parking is free for 3 hours as long as register vehicle reg with the staff on arrival. Recommended to visit!
My food was tasty would highly recommend the Festive Turkey roast!; however my partner's main was overdone gammon—Not complaining however, as we only paid for one meal thanks to a voucher. Possibly would've been more annoyed if I had paid full price for both. Service was excellent. The woman who served us was polite, friendly, organised and helpful. Disappointed when I went to refill our "refillable" coffees, as apparently the coffee machine gets turned off two whole hours before they close, which I was not informed of, and honestly doesn't make any sense. I'd understand maybe half an hour beforehand, but two hours seems excessive, especially when you still have diners in the restaurant.
Great service the lady who served our table was spot on. Food was average across the board. Some of the dishes were lovely and some dry and overcooked. Me and my partner both had refillable lattes, bearing in mind our table was booked for 8pm, at 9:27 my partner went up to refill the cups and was told the coffee machines are turned of at 9pm by a member of staff. Why? The restaurant is open till 11pm so why would the coffee machines be turned off two hours before hand?
A lovely, cosy place and easily found straight off the motorway. Meet here the last two Christmas's, as its ideally situated midway for our families to meet up for a festive lunch. Lovely carvery and a fab festive menu with great service from all staff.Food: 4/5
From what I gather , a regular drinker ruined the visit , shouting and seemed worse for wear. Oblivious to others being there and the behaviour reluctantly accepted by staff .Customers at bar trying to order not happy at all. A table of restaurant customers got up and moved to the other end of the building. Limited staff , coped as well as could . Table sticky , menus needing clean. Windows dirty , highlighted by the sun shining bright across our table .Curtains too small to create some shade. Classic Cheese Burger overpriced for what was presented , not as per menu , small burger and bun , standard chips, not skin on chips. Coleslaw definitely not creamy and did not taste at all fresh. Overall poor visit .waste of good money and will not spend time travelling there again. I’ve been there many , many times before and was a good to place to eat and relax . Very disappointed!!.
First and only time going here. The food was not great, the salad came with mostly lettuce, a couple of peeled strands of carrot and the chicken breast must have come from a pigeon it was that small and extremely overcooked. My daughters chicken breast was tough and they looked like they have been around for days. Desserts are tiny portions. Service at the bar and at the table very lacking and very slow. Nobody asked how I food was. And it's not exactly cheap for a family of 4 people we spent very nearly £50 and for what we got it really was not worth it. Definitely will not be going back there any time soon.
Friendly staff and food good value. Prices remarkable at the moment. Barman superb. Went out of his way to make our evening pleasant.Food: 4/5
First time I went the food wasn't that good, the chips were well over done, I don't know how the cheff could not have seen it, probably thought oh that will be ok, not thinking that he or she would have accepted them. Soooo I thought maybe give it a another go. BIG MISTAKE, the carvery was a disaster the parsnips were well dried out, seen more moisture in a Egyptian mummy, the veg was well I could go on all night, I definitely will NOT be going again, I would rather have a Macki D ..oh forgot to say the tables were so sticky and horrid and nasty every thing stuck to them...
After visiting family for Christmas we met here to have breakfast and say our goodbyes. The food was always amazing, all hot and not dried out like you used to find in the likes of littlewoods and BHS. There is a huge selection to choose from and caters to everyone's likes
We waited 30 minutes after being shown to our table without any orders having been taken. Eventually I went and enquired only to be told that we had to place orders at the bar. The restaurant was very understaffed and it took a further 45 minutes for our starters to arrive. The food was poor and the service very slow.Food: 2/5
