We were down by the beach and fancied some chips, this was a short walk away. Had a little wait as they cooked food fresh. Food was very nice, highly recommend. Both the fish and chips were cooked really well. Also had a pot of curry sauce which was very tasty! Space out front to park if driving.
My wife & I found the Golden Fillet, searching online. What a treat to be honest. I had a medium cod & my wife had 12 scampi bites, and they are a decent size. We shared a large portion of chips. Also we had a pot of curry sauce. Wow that is tasty. The food was very tasty & sat in the car by Clacton Pier. Reasonably priced & good staff too. Well worth recommend going.
Highly recommend, have been here many times now, love their food, staff and place. My go to for fish and chips in Holland / Clacton. Prices are always reasonable, Great quality, never had a bad experience there, I would say ring up during busy periods or expect to wait for a little while as they are very popular!
Absolutely AMAZING! The food, the service and the price were all 5 couldn't fault it. If I had to find fault, bigger plates for the very generous portions that's all would definitely and looking forward to eating there again.
Lovely meal with the kids - fish and chips, scampi, sausage and amazing mushy peas. All hot, fresh and tasty and good value and nice clean tables. Will be back next time we are in the area.
First visit but disappointed as fish batter greasy and not crisp. Chips had a lot of small scraps in them. Could name three fish and chip shops that I would choose in preference. I will try Golden Fillet again as all the good reviews can't be wrong. Maybe it was a bad day at the chippy. Parking: 3 or four spaces in front of shop. Better access than many other chippies in area.
Burger bun awful fish ordered medium got small hate to think was small is door left open were food kept hot before wrapping . All food was cold 1/2 pounder more 1/4 pounder very disappointed . Wouldn’t buy there again worst I’ve ever had inside fish not cooked and long wait . First chip shop in years that haven’t liked there food very greasy sorry but truth lot money 22,00 pounds should gone to kentucky
Very freindly staff , best fish and chips ever tasted , best chips nice and crisp not soggy or greasy , good value would highly recommend this place to eat or take away Wheelchair accessibility: Was pleasantly surprised they had disability facilities therefore more comfortable to use
Busy Tuesday evening, but worth 10 minutes wait. One of the best tasting cod & chips. Good value for money.
