Just had chicken and black bean sauce, I put a piece of chicken in my mouth and thought it was a mushroom, the texture of the chicken was truly awful, just like boiled mushrooms . The black bean sauce had no flavour because it was too spicy, so couldn't taste anything. The rice was good The vegetable mini rolls were dull and tasteless . Will never eat there again
The spring rolls and chicken noodles were nice. Chicken and sweetcorn soup was very poor. No flavour in the stock, not thickened and I had to add salt, chicken stock, white pepper when I got home and it was still like dishwater. Sort out your soups please.Food: 4/5
Placed our order and was given a different cost than on the menu, was told all items had gone up 40p....shouldn't advertise one price and charge another, beef curry was tasty but not enough sauce, chips lovely, but my chicken was so dry and over cooked I couldn't eat it. Sadly we won't use again.
This takeaway has recently had a change of management, and having been loyal customers of some 20yrs or so to the previous management I can report that I expect we will continue to remain loyal customers as the quality of the food has remained just as high, the taste is the same, the portion sizes the same and the service, whilst different, is highly impressive.
Earlier this year Golden Bridge received new owners, and you know how you're always worried such an event will bring a change in menu or taste, thankfully it hasn't!... The new owners are brilliant and I stand by my original review... Also, they now accept cash and card which makes life easier. Original review: I love this Chinese takaway, been buying a curry there almost every week for in excess of ten yrs now, the quality and quantity of food served in the foil containers is superb, their prices for the quality is well worth it. The chicken pieces in a chicken breast curry are often 'about' 1" sqr or so in size, the curry sauce is nice and thick and contains peas and onion unless u request otherwise, prawns are of good size, again, 'about' 1" across, good meaty bite, more like king prawns, none of this small stuff. Chips are baked, with a portion being enough for both my parents. Mushrooms are quarter cuts, not sliced slivers. Their special is larger than the other curries, and each curry comes with a choice of chips or boiled rice or for a extra 20p fried rice. The shop has a double door, so difficult for wheelchairs and prams and the counter is high at about 4.5ft, so again, not ideal, but this is because before a police enforcement order in the area was put in place there was a spate of incidents involving unruly individuals, so a number of shops had to protect their staff, even OneStop has a high counter, so does the Indian takeaway, sadly in the past it was the norm, some shops closed completely, but the regulars and girl who serves are very helpful, telephone orders can be made, someone is always willing to help. Payment is cash only there is a close cash point that charges and a free cashpoint outside Coop a bit further away, and whilst there is no delivery service, there is parking out the front and on adjacent roads. Personally I love the place! I've suffered no upset rummy from here, unlike some other major fast-food places.
Just used golden bridge for 1st time since changing owner. Food tasted just as good as before, was piping hot and ready in just 10 mins. Will definitely return again.Food: 5/5

Lovely takeaway, friendly staff, amazing food. AMAZING FOOD! Great prices and... I'd love to know the secret to making food so amazing. Takeaway night is my favourite night. Golden Bridge? More like... Platinum Bridge... Seriously, seating available, food is usually a short wait but can be ordered for PICK-UP with an estimated time available. Super clean and has a very laid back atmosphere. If it wasn't weird, I would probably sit in there to relax. Parking: Shared parking out front for all the businesses.

The curry and chicken balls were reasonable. The chips were awful... Really dry and crunchy, reckon they had been cooked well in advance and keep in oven or refried to order
