Car advertised as concours was absolutely nowhere near that and if I had not requested detail photographs I would have wasted a journey and missed out on a much better example. Times have moved on - honestly describing vehicles is the only way to build a reputation. It is also considered courtesy to return client emails of any description especially when the customer is offering you constructive feedback and politely indicating that the vehicle isn't for them. Definitely can see why this operation has the other critical reviews.

I will start by saying that this garage is run by enthusiasts and is well connected. However, their operation has discredited itself in a serious way in this instance by not playing ball; acting as they have in a wholly unprofessional manner. I placed a substantial holding deposit against a car I was interested in, with which this business were marketing. I acted on the basis of the information presented to me, as advertised on their web-site as well as through my willingness to place my trust in their operation; gained from conversations with the proprietor. However, the mileage indicated within the car's description narrative of just over 105,000 fell considerably short of what was subsequently found a while later on the Gov.UK web-site MOT history file on said car's last MOT, where the mileage status of over 230,000 miles was indicated! I duly e-mailed the proprietor with the link to the information as evidenced, giving notice of my withdrawal from having any further interest in the car; requesting a full refund of my deposit. This was on a Thursday. I was promptly e-mailed with a short response stating my refund would be done (sic) 'straight away'. After excuses that included being away celebrating his wife's 50th birthday followed by being told it would be next week and ignoring my requests for the original promise of 'straight away' to be honoured, plus a further excuse proclaiming, "We've been moving seven cars out today", I found myself drafting an e-mail to Porsche AG, explaining the whole situation with the wide discrepancy noted and what appeared to be the withholding of what was my inheritance money out of some probable misguided vengeance move by the proprietor. Only when the last of numerous phonecalls with said proprietor was instead picked up by his wife, (a solicitor I am advised), who knew nothing about the scenario, did I feel like I was being treated seriously and listened to by a professionally-minded individual, and who showed concern about the protracted nature of this refund, not to mention the excuses I was given in the process from her husband. I was duly told, "Leave it to me" and from there, I knew I was in good hands, for shortly afterwards I received an e-mail from the proprietor stating I should see my refund by close of business, (which for perspective, was the following Tuesday afternoon to the previous Thursday I'd expected the refund to be made by). I had recounted the whole scenario and e-mail exchanges encountered with her husband, who, I can say now, acted in a completely unforgivable and unbecoming manner where both the handling of my case together with the representation of a marque of this kind was concerned. There may be a response to this review with an alternative take, or that I am a time waster, but the above speaks for itself in this instance where a serious overhaul of PR standards need to be addressed. I do not appreciate being played-off in such a fashion with my money, nor in portraying a car with much lower mileage than is true; even if it has had a rebuild: of which there was no clear narrative on the site as to the extent of work done during previous ownership. With the true, (much higher) mileage, as found on the Gov.UK MOT information pages, such inaccuracies are unquestionably disturbing to any prospective buyer looking at investing good sums of money when not having the full remit of certificated evidence of the level of rebuild work undertaken. But, in-spite of any car issues, it is with the attitude of any given garage proprietor or their sales representatives and their stance toward buyers who change their mind after such inconsistencies come to light which ultimately marks out any shortcomings of customer relation measures, for the underhand way in which I had to wait for the refund of my money with attendant excuses plied, irks more than anything else here, and which should be borne in mind by all.
