This is a good train station, although I expected more pomp and opulence in architecture from a city as Gloucester. I like quite a number of things about it- particularly its location and services. The environment is satisfactorily clean as well. The station caters to a reasonable number of train services and destinations. There are restrooms and cafes around the environment , but public and private transport links to and from the station are quite limited
I love Gloucester in my own way, you will not get lost in Gloucester, and will not miss a familiar face round the corner.nnEasy to shop from Asda, Tesco, Saintsbury Supermarket, Mark's and Spencer and many thrift shops. The Asian corner shops stocked with all products from Kenya, West Africa and South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.nnUpcoming is Gloucester University which is under construction at the moment, hopefully opening early next year, its situated in the city centre near the central bus station, if you want to further your education, pay them a visitnnThe beautiful park of Gloucester, is a must visit, medicine to your eyes and soul. Troubled spirit, you need peace of mind, come to this park and experience peace never known, highly recommended.
The staff here are friendly and helpful, guiding me to my destination with kindness.
Generally this station is ok. Currently it has ongoing improvement works on the front of the station which means that the drop off area in the car park and the Bruton Way entrance are been closed. This can clog the car park up a little if people are waiting for passengers onboard trains.nnThere are regular services to the West Midlands, South Wales and Bristol areas, with some trains going further afield.nnThere are plenty of seats on platforms 1 and 4, while on platform 2 there is limited seating and platform 3 although very rarely used there is no seating. There are toilets available on platform 1, as well as departure boards and passenger information screens available on all platforms. Bins are also available on all platforms.nnMake sure you give yourself plenty of time at this station as to walk to platform 1 it does take a while. Signage to the platforms although adequate at above head height could be improved. There also needs to be better signage over to the bus station.nnThis station is fully accessible, there is step free access to all platforms there is a lift available to get to/from platform 4. There are audible announcements, as well as tactile markings on the platform. Station staff are available through the day for passenger assistance.
Sure if some renovation, let’s make all passengers walk 5 mins more. Public cost for this renovation is enormous but of course nobody cares. Shame on you!
