Both myself and my wife decided it was time to upgrade our 19 year old van for a newer used caravan. We looked online on their website and narrow our search down to 2 vans that we wanted to see. We went early on the Saturday morning to view both of them and before the day was out we had bought a 2016 Bailey caravan. To say it was a 2016 model the caravan was immaculate and looked like new.nnThe sales team were fantastic and couldn't be more helpful. The caravan was prepped and ready for us un the space of a week and that included fitting a motor mover for us.nnOn the handover a member of the team showed us round our new caravan and explained how to use everything. They even fitted a new battery for us that we bought while we were there.nnGreat service and dedicated to making sure the customer is happy.
Took receipt of my first caravan yesterday, as I don't have a house or rent, this was a big deal to me.nTwo weeks prior, I made the journey from Somerset to view the caravan. Faults I picked up at that time have since been rectified and the van looks good as new.nI drove up from Somerset on Friday with an agreed 15:00 dispatch time. The caravan was late to the dispatch area by 45 minutes, after a 5 hour journey to be there on time, this was unexpected.nI stayed the Friday night on site to break up the journey and to access the working order of the systems in the van. They were very accommodating by having this option to stay on site.nAll systems operated as expected and enjoyed my first night in my new home.nSaturday morning, on hitch up, I noticed the hitch pads wear indicator was in the red and the rear lights did not function properly.nI was told the van would get a 122 point check, maybe I got a 120 point check?nIf I didn't notice the wear indicator, I would've been sent on the road unsafely/unlawfuly.nThese faults were quickly rectified by changing the wear pads and the 13 pin socket at the caravan end.nMy credit goes out to George from the dispatch department, as somebody who is relatively new in his role, he did a great job with me, my questions and provided me with sound advice. Buyer beware - two tier pricing in operation.nI called about a caravan that appeared to have been reduced, with a higher price visible but scored out, happy days I thought. On talking to the sales guy, the reduced figure is only for a cash purchase nothing else, if I wanted to part exchange which I did, he had to revert to the scored out price which was higher!!! Very underhand in my opinion, I'm sure the authorities would agree. Dishonest practice in my book, two prices advertised in this day, I think not, I will look elsewhere.
From arriving to just have a look at a few caravans to collecting our new caravan today, my husband and I cannot fault the staff at Glossop Caravans. Christian, Oliver and the ladies in reception could not have been more helpful on our initial visit. We were left to peruse the caravans at our own pace and in our own time, with no pressure to buy. When we arrived to part ex our caravan and collect our new one, Clare, Dave and all the other office and service staff could not do enough for us. I had made a small snagging list on purchasing our caravan and everything had been completed. The service staff also went above and beyond doing additional little jobs that had not been picked up by me. Nothing was too much trouble. We cannot thank everyone enough. We have bought a couple of caravans in the past and never received the excellent standard of service we received today. Thank you so much. We know where we will be coming for our next caravan.
