The Glenesk Hotel is set in some of Scotland's most spectacular countryside and offers traditional hospitality.

Story

The hotel is situated in the beautiful "Britain in Bloom" award-winning village of Edzell at the foot of the Angus Glens. Both Aberdeen and Dundee airports can be reached in around 40 minutes by car. We offer long and short stay packages that include Airport/Railway or any other daily Transfer to and from the hotel for individuals and groups.

The Glenesk Hotel offers plenty of public Rest Areas and Lounges, a Leisure Club with a swimming pool, spa bath, sauna, a small gym, and a Games Room with a full size snooker table. There is also a spacious Car Park, large Gardens, Wi-Fi internet in bedrooms and public areas.

Our Garden View Restaurant serves dinners from 6pm until 9pm, while our Menu provides options available on a Dinner Bed & Breakfast basis. To prepare meals we use Scottish products; all ingredients are as local as physically possible and delivered daily by local butchers, fishmongers and farmers. Our wines are exclusively supplied by fine wine specialist La Barrique. In our Lounge Bar you will find one of the biggest selections of local ales, beers, malts and whiskies. All our standard Guest Rooms are en-suite and equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer, flat screen TV or TV/DVD with all Freeview channels. In every room there are complimentary toiletries, shoe shine, a sewing kit and finest Scottish shortbread to accompany teas and coffees. Executive Rooms, in addition to the standard specification, are equipped with trouser press, safe, mini bar, ironing facilities, bathrobe, slippers and toiletries set containing shaving kit, mini toothpaste and toothbrush as well as standard tubes of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, moisturiser and a soap bar. All our rooms are individually furnished, most with traditional king and super-king size four poster, half tester or sleigh beds to make your sleep extremely comfortable. Traditional Scottish cooked breakfast and buffet are offered to all our guests in the morning.
When it comes to a Special Event, for 15 or for 200, we will happily tailor a package to meet your specific needs and use our experience to guide you every step of the way. The hotel residents and parties are offered special rates at adjoining Edzell Golf Club, with two excellent 18 and 9 hole courses and packages to suit all standards and tastes. These include famous courses such as Carnoustie, St. Andrews and many others.
On the outskirts of the picturesque village you will find Historic Scotland's Edzell Castle and Folk Museum. Famous Fettercairn Distillery offers special tours for our guests. There are excellent possibilities for Fishing (the river North Esk is most famous for its Atlantic Salmon), Shooting, Hill Walking and other outdoor pursuits in the Angus Glens. You will find Wildlife in its natural environment and in the Montrose Basin Wildlife Centre. With a 20 minute drive to St Cyrus you can experience miles of uninterrupted white Sandy Beaches, where along the coastline you will find beautiful coves.
